Third of homes suffer slow broadband speeds
A third of homes in the UK are lumbered with broadband speeds considerably lower than the national average.
A third of homes in the UK are currently suffering from broadband speeds significantly below the UK’s average.
That’s the conclusion of new research from price comparison website uSwitch, which found that a third of postcodes across the nation struggle to get speeds above 5Mbps.
The table below highlights the towns enjoying the most mediocre broadband speeds.

The research follows an Ofcom report earlier this month which found that, while the average UK broadband speed is on the rise, many packages are still delivering rates far slower than advertised.
