Updated on 10 May 2013 | 0 Comments

Plusnet has launched a deal offering half-price broadband for nine months plus £25 cashback, while Sky is now coughing up a £100 M&S voucher.

Hardly a week goes by without one broadband provider or another launching some special offer aimed at luring customers away from other suppliers.

That said, May's crop of bargains is especially strong, with half-price deals, cashback, gift cards and vouchers galore up for grabs. In fact, with such great deals on offer, now could be the perfect time to ditch your existing provider and grab cheaper, faster and more reliable internet access elsewhere.

Four broadband bargains from Plusnet, Sky, Virgin and Tesco

Surely the deal of the month must be Plusnet's offer of half-price broadband and telephone for nine months. What's more, our partner broadbandchoices.co.uk has secured an exclusive £25 cashback on top. Here are the details of this delicious deal, plus three other top offers:

1. Plusnet: Half-price Essentials Broadband and evening and weekend calls for nine months, plus exclusive £25 cashback

  • Half-price broadband (up to 16Mb)
  • From only £2.99 a month for nine months (in low-cost areas), then £5.99 a month (plus £14.50 monthly line rental)
  • Unlimited overnight usage; 10GB monthly usage limit in daytime
  • Free activation and wireless router (worth £40) (postage and packing is £5.99)
  • Inclusive weekend calls to UK landlines and 0870/0845 numbers (for calls up to an hour; hang up and redial to avoid charges)
  • Exclusive £25 cashback when you order online
  • Offer ends 29th May and is open to new Plusnet customers only

As you can see, this cracking little deal from Plusnet gives you high-speed broadband for as little as £2.99 a month (plus £14.50 line rental) for the first nine months. Factor in the £25 cashback and your broadband could cost a mere £1.91 for three-quarters of a year. Frankly, you'll struggle to get online with anyone else at such a low price!

2. Sky: Broadband, phone and TV with a free £100 M&S e-voucher

  • Sign up online for Sky TV (includes Sky1, Sky Atlantic and more), broadband and phone and get a £100 M&S e-voucher
  • Just £21.50 a month, plus £14.50 monthly line rental, totalling £36 a month
  • Broadband speeds up to 14Mb
  • Free standard installation, plus Sky+ box and Sky Hub
  • Free Sky Go: upgrade to Sky Go Extra and get two months' free

  • Offer ends Thursday 16th May and is open to new Sky TV customers also switching their broadband, calls and line rental to Sky for a 12-month contract

This bumper bundle from Sky combines Sky TV, broadband, landline and free weekend calls for just £36 a month. The £100 M&S e-voucher reduces the first-year cost from £432 to £332. However, you need to move fast as the deal will disappear on 16th May.

3. Virgin Media Starter Collection: Half-price for six months, free installation and £50 credit

  • Just £9 a month for the first six months, then £18 a month (plus monthly line rental of £14.99)
  • Up to 30Mb broadband with unlimited downloads

  • Free installation (worth £49.95) and £50 credit to your bill
  • This offer is available only to new customers applying online for an 18-month contract
  • The £50 credit offer ends on Monday 13th May and the half-price offer runs to 30th June

This is a pretty sweet deal for those looking to get TV, broadband and landline from Virgin Media. The total cost for the first year (including line rental) is £341.88 -- a saving of £54. Add in the £50 credit to your bill and you save an impressive £104 with this offer. Again, you'll have to move fast, as the free £50 credit ends on 13th May.

4. Tesco: Broadband and evening and weekend calls, with a free £30 Tesco voucher

  • One year's half-price broadband: £3 a month for 12 months, then £6 a month (plus monthly line rental of £14.90)

  • Quote code "GIFTCARD-1A" to get a £30 Tesco gift card to spend online or in-store
  • Earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent on Tesco Broadband
  • Offer open only to new customers applying for a 12-month contract and ends on 19th May

If you frequently shop at Tesco, then this may well be the broadband+phone deal for you. As well as a £30 Tesco voucher for signing up, you earn Clubcard points on your monthly bills. The total cost in the first year is £214.80 -- a saving of £36. Note that this is yet another attractive offer with a short shelf-life, as it must end on Sunday 19th May.
