35 things you can get for under £5!

Whether you want to get your hands on coach tickets, gardening tools, homewares, DVDs, music, or clothes, we've got it all for £5 or less!

Here at lovemoney.com HQ we love a good bargain. So in this article, I’m going to highlight 35 top bargains you can get for a fiver or less!

Travel

If you’re looking for a way to travel on the cheap, make sure you check out the National Express website which is currently offering selected single fares for just £1. This is valid for travel until 30 June.

Alternatively, Megabus and its sister service Megatrain operate budget coach and train services all over the UK – and both of these are offering tickets from just £1! Prices vary according to demand, which means the earlier you book, and the less popular your journey, the more likely it is you’ll get your ticket for £1. Bear in mind, you will have to pay a 50p booking fee.

And if you’re hoping to jet-set somewhere warm, and you’re planning to travel from London to Gatwick, Stansted or Luton airports, you can currently pick up an airport transfer with easyBus from just £2 each way (or from £4 return).

Fun and games

If you have kids and you’re prepared to get up early, head down to your nearest Hollywood Bowl and you’ll be able to play one bowling game for just one penny! Bear in mind you will have to start your game between 9am and 9.30am and this is only valid during the Easter school holidays. You can find your nearest Hollywood Bowl here.  

DVDs and music

If you’re hoping to boost your DVD collection, check out Play.com which is offering a whopping 80% off selected DVDs. This means you can now pick up films such as The Hangover for just £4.99, or Bee Movie for £2.99.

Alternatively, if you’re hunting for something in the music area, Snow Patrol’s greatest hits album Up To Now is now £3.99 at Play.com, and The Best Of The Stereophonics is also £3.99.

If you’d prefer to download music, take a look at Amazon which has a range of tunes to download from just 29p. Songs include Take That’s Rule The World, and Warwick Avenue by Duffy.

Bargain basement

If you’re looking for a top bargain, make sure you check out the 99p Stores. These stores are packed full of various items, which are all – yes, you’ve guessed it – 99p! You can pick up anything from garden solar lights to barbecue charcoal briquettes to a raincoat - all for this bargainous price! 

Alternatively, check out your local Poundland which sells everything for £1! Deals include a circular hanging basket for your garden, a polka dot umbrella, or a pair of reading glasses.

Homeware and gardening

If you’re after something for your home, why not check out IKEA? Here you can pick up a six-pack of glass tumblers for £4.99, or this four-pack of funky placemats for just £1.99.

If you’re really looking to stock up your kitchen, you can also get your hands on plates and bowls from just 35p apiece. So you can complete your dining range without breaking the bank!

And if you’re hoping to get out and about in the garden, you can enjoy these Gerbera potted plants for just £1.99, or these mixed bulbs, also for £1.99.

Alternatively, if you’re after some gardening tools, check out Wilkinsons where you can pick up a border spade or a border fork for £4.98 each. Meanwhile, this trowel is just 87p!

Supermarket sweep

Looking for some grocery bargains? Then head down to your local ASDA where you can pick up a whole host of cupboard essentials for £1 or less! You can pick up anything from two packs of organic pasta twists for £1, crunchy peanut butter for 87p, or a box of bran flakes for £1.
