Jane Baker hunts out the best bargains on the high street

Let’s take a look at this week’s hottest discounts and deals!

First up, Fashion:

If you’re looking for bargains this week then online fashion stores are the place to look. First of all, try the mid season sale at ASOS where you can get up to 50% off. Many items are less than £20.

If you’re a bit of a fashionista, then your second stop should be Outnet. To celebrate the store’s first birthday, thousands of items will be reduced to just £1.

Only one super cheap item is allowed per person and delivery costs £5.95, but you can expect some top designer pieces so it’s well worth a look. You’ll need to register at the Outnet website for access to the sale which takes place on 16 April.

Next up, DVDs and books:

For DVDs, check out the great deals at Zavvi. If you like Brit comedy, The Inbetweeners, Series 1 and 2 is on sale for just £9.85 – saving you £20.14. Meanwhile the first and second series of Punisher is also on sale for £8.85, with more than £16 off.

Meanwhile, bookworms should head over to Play.com this week where you’ll discover some fantastic bargains in the 80% off sale. Top picks include Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights by Sophie Dahl for £9.99, Icons of England by Bill Bryson for £4.99 and The White Queen by Philippa Gregory for just £3.99.
