Cheap deals, bargains and voucher codes!
We reveal 10 brilliant ways to find cheap deals, bargains and voucher codes online - and save yourself lots of money!
Everyone loves to save money – particularly at this time of year when money seems to fly out of the window.
Fortunately, thanks to the internet, more and more websites are springing up offering fabulous bargains.
So whether you’re looking for a treat for yourself, or you’re hunting for a more original Christmas present, take a look at this little lot:
MyVoucherCodes.co.uk/local
If you’re a regular reader of lovemoney.com, you’re bound to have heard of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk. This clever website allows you to search for voucher codes at all of your favourite retailers. If you’re lucky enough to find one, you simply enter the code at the checkout and watch the pounds get sliced off.
However, the website has now taken this one step further and launched a local business-specific discount website called MyVoucherCodes.co.uk/local. The site aims to still offer great discounts but now has a local twist to ensure you save even more money.
This means you’ll be able to locate the best offers in your area - for example, your local hairdresser might be offering 10% off or perhaps there’s a great deal on at a local restaurant. Simply type in where you live and what you’re looking for and watch the deals stack up!
What’s more, the site has also launched a free mobile phone application that will show all of the current discounts and promotions at independent shops in your area. You can download this if you have an Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Here for a day
Hereforaday.com is a newly launched website that sells household essentials at bargain prices. The website purchases items in bulk and then passes on the savings it has made by doing so to you!
So this means you can benefit from bulk-buying savings without having to actually buy the items in bulk (unless you want to of course).
Just bear in mind that each deal is only valid for 24 hours.
So if you have a bit of an addiction to buying items for your home (like I do) or you want to buy something nice for a loved one, make sure you check this website out. You’ll find great deals on kitchen equipment, furniture, and other household items.
Previous deals have included 63% off a Simac steam iron for £69.99, 63% off an Indulgence donut maker for £12.99, and 30% off a Royal Doulton Kettle for £12.50.
Delivery usually takes between three to five working days. And if you sign up, you’ll be sent e-alerts to tell you what’s on offer.
Vouchercloud
Similar to the latest offering from MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, the Vouchercloud app for the iPhone allows you to get discount vouchers straight to your mobile, as well as locate shops and restaurants near you that have special offers.
The app simply takes your current location via GPS and then tells you the closest offers to you. What’s more, you won’t have to worry about printing out any vouchers because all you have to do is show the voucher on your screen to a member of staff for your discount. Brilliant!
That said, if you do want to print out a voucher, there’s a section on the website that allows you to do just that.
Wahanda
Wahanda is a website that offers comprehensive listings of spas, salons and health centres all around the world, along with a range of fabulous deals in your area. For example, you might be able to get a 2 for 1 deal at your nearest spa or 50% off a haircut at the hairdressers across the road.
What’s more, there’s also what’s called a ‘MobDeal’ each day. This works on the principle of group buying.
Wahanda secures a special volume discount with top spas to offer a MobDeal for 24 hours. Then, if enough people sign up to the deal, the offer goes live for the rest of the day so anyone can take advantage of it. But if there isn’t enough interest, no one gets the deal.
At the time of writing, in London you could get a one hour massage, facial, pedicure or manicure for just £22.
It’s also worth noting that if you sign up to the newsletter you’ll get £5 off your first purchase and you’ll also get £5 off if you refer a friend and your friend makes his/her first purchase.
Wowcher, Keynoir, Living Social, Groupola and Groupon
Thanks to the increasing popularity of group buying websites, more and more of them are springing up everywhere. Each website features at least one great deal each day, such as 50% off a one-night stay at a hotel or 80% off teeth whitening. Providing enough people sign up to the deal, the deal will go ahead. If not, it won’t!
They each have different deals so it worth signing up to all of them if you don't mind getting a few emails a day. There's not much to choose between them but here's our take on them:
- Wowcher (the first of its kind)
- Keynoir (offers the poshest deals)
- Living Social (has a great iPhone app)
- Groupola (powered by myvouchercodes.co.uk)
- Groupon (one of the biggest)
