Rachel Robson highlights four ways to save money as you shop!

If you regularly shop online, I’ve come up with four top tips to help save you money as you spend.

Use a shopbot

The very first thing you should do is to check you’re paying the lowest price possible for your purchase. To do this, make sure you use what’s known as a shopbot.

A shopbot is a search engine which allows you to hunt the web for whatever item you want and find it at the best price. You can search for anything from flight tickets, to CDs, to food.

Shopbots to check out include Kelkoo, Pricerunner and Shopping.com.

Use a cashback website

Once you’ve located the cheapest place to buy your item, see whether you can purchase it through a cashback website.

Simply register with a website, such as Quidco, TopCashBack and GreasyPalm, and then use it as a gateway to all your online shopping.

Every time you make a purchase through your chosen cashback website, you receive money back.

Hunt for voucher codes

It’s also worth scouring the internet for a voucher code – which should knock even more money off the purchase price.

Good websites to check out include HotUKDeals, vouchercodes.co.uk and my vouchercodes.co.uk.

If you’re lucky enough to find a voucher code for your chosen retailer, simply copy and paste the code into the specified box at the online checkout. And then watch as the code slashes several pounds off the price!

Use a cashback credit card

Finally, if you know you can afford to pay off your credit card bill in full each month, it’s well worth using a cashback credit card. That way you’ll earn even more money back every time you spend on your card!

The American Express Platinum Cashback Credit Card offers five percent cashback in the first three months, and up to one point two five percent cashback after that.

Just make sure you do pay off your bill in full each month, otherwise you will be hit with an interest rate of nineteen point nine percent.

So there you have it – four great ways to shop online!
