Who will provide a mortgage to someone with a CCJ

I have a £30,000 mortgage with Halifax supposed to be portable. I have had some debt repayment problems over the last year, but my mortgage is up-to-date. I now have a buyer for the house I am selling to clear the debts, and have enough left over to buy another place with the mortgage transferred, but Halifax won't do the transfer. Where else can I go? There is a CCJ I am appealing against for a small amount with Nationwide, and I have about £135K equity.
