The monarch on money
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II ruled for 70 years, longer than any other monarch in British history. She became queen in February 1952 at the age of 25 and was 96 at the time of her death on 8 September. During her reign her portrait has graced billions of banknotes and coins, both in Britain and in various Commonwealth countries.
