I have never really understood how wine and spirits can attract colossal prices at auction. It's simply ownership of a labelled bottle. If you ever open the bottle to sample the contents the value is instantly destroyed, so like Schroedinger's cat in a box you can never know if you have bought excellent wine or a bottle of corked pond water. Art is bunkum as well. I've seen better paintings than that "reclining nude" at a school open evening for year 10s. The feet are different sizes, and the face is a cartoon! (God help her if she really looked like that.)
