The problem is Amazon is just too good - other chains often make it as difficult to purchase - they have less choice, more expensive, and make returning anything too difficult to bother. What can you do. I am surprised that you must have met the man to be able to assess his personality. I rather like the fact that this guy started the business in a mature market from home with his Mother.
Go bust hopefully and give sales back to proper businesses not owned by some megalomaniac tax dodger. Can't stand all this love for this horrible company, sure they've created jobs but how many have they destroyed over the years. Haven't used Amazon for a long time and will go out of my way to never do so again.
