I think paying a little more for a better economy offering is a nice option and I wish BA had kept that. The larger financial step up to business class is prohibitive for many. BA's Cabin Crew are still the most polite of all airlines I have ever flown with.

Anyone who has had the misfortune to fly on Vueling prior to 2016 will quickly tell you that Cruz is the problem. He is trying to apply his no-frills knowledge to BA without understanding his customers. People used to choose to fly on BA despite the increased cost for the service. Cruz only sees cost and will try to remove it / optimise it. Giving himself a £500k raise whilst arguing with pilots as to their pay demands isn't helping either. Whether there is still (enough of) a market for airlines with better service for increased cost is debatable.
