IKEA teamed up with tiny home specialists Escape and Vox Creative to design its first-ever flat-pack house. As you would expect, the retreat boasts plenty of smart space-saving features across its 187-square-foot interior. Designed to be located off-grid, the tiny home sits on a trailer and is a customised version of Escape's popular Vista Boho XL model, but comes decked out with solar panels, an on-demand heated water supply and an eco-friendly composting toilet.

Cosy and compact, the tiny home boasts chic white-washed, sustainably grown pine panelled walls, plenty of windows and IKEA furniture, including a collapsible desk and table. The house consists of an open-plan lounge with a bedroom at one end and a bathroom at the other. There are plenty of sustainable details too, including the kitchen cupboards, which are made from recycled bottle tops. Prices for IKEA's first flat-pack home start at just $49,928 (£36k), making this model both beautiful and highly affordable.

Estonian design company, Kodaseama, have designed a tiny house that takes less than 24 hours to assemble. The 270-square-foot concrete structure doesn't require foundations, which makes it movable, and costs around $137,000 (£99k) for installation and delivery. The price also includes site preparation and the cost of connecting the home to an electricity and water supply.

The ground floor consists of an open-plan living room and kitchen, while the bedroom and bathroom are cleverly slotted into the mezzanine area above.
