When you're one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, you can afford to loosen the purse strings a little. But when Nicolas Cage embarked on a bizarre spending spree, which saw him splurge on everything from ancient castles to shrunken heads, he reportedly managed to blow a staggering $150 million (£112m) in just a few years.
A $150,000 (£112k) octopus, a $150,000 (£112k) Superman comic, and even a $276,000 (£206.5k) dinosaur skull were among his more unusual purchases. The Tyrannosaurus bataar skull, pictured, was around 70 million years old, and Cage fought off Leonardo DiCaprio during the 2007 bidding war. It later transpired, however, that the bone had been stolen from Mongolia, and the Adaptation star had to return it to the authorities in 2015.
