Where you work in Oregon dictates the minimum hourly rate an employer needs to pay you, and increase take effect in July. The amount depends on the rate of inflation according to the CPI, from March to March, so it’s still unknown what will change next year. Since July 1, 2023, the standard state minimum wage has been $14.20, and will remain at that rate until June 30, 2024.
However, employers in the Portland metropolitan area need to pay at least $1.25 over the standard wage, and that minimum hourly wage is currently $15.45.
Meanwhile, 18 non-urban counties in the south and west of the state have their own minimum wage of $13.20 an hour, and are allowed to pay no less than $1 below the standard wage.
