Arnold Schwarzenegger demanded a $29 million payday to reprise his iconic role in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. The sci-fi flick was released in 2003, so that's an incredible $48 million (£39m) when inflation-adjusted.
In addition to his juicy salary, the action star received a generous $1.5 million "perk package" for luxuries such as private jet transportation, swanky hotel accommodations, a limousine service, personal security, and a personal trainer. Adjusted for inflation, this package amounted to $2.5 million (£2m).
A "pay or play" clause in Schwarzenegger's contract also meant that he'd pocket his staggering salary even if the movie was never actually made. Meanwhile, he was also entitled to receive $1.6 million per day in overage for every day the film ran behind schedule, or $2.7 million (£2.2m) in today's money.
