Floating palaces decked out with every luxury amenity imaginable, superyachts remain the preserve of the ridiculously rich.
In fact, only the very wealthiest stars have the funds to buy and run the ultimate A-list status symbol, with celebrities usually opting to charter a yacht rather than purchase their own dream vessel.
So which super-rich famous faces have taken the plunge? Read on to learn more about 10 of the most expensive superyachts currently owned by the wealthy and famous today. All dollar amounts in US dollars.
Tiger Woods' superyacht Privacy was built by Washington State's Christensen shipyard in 2004 and set the legendary golfer back a cool $20 million (£17m). That works out at around $32.5 million (£26m) today.
Ironically given the boat's moniker, Woods actually ended up suing the shipyard for breach of privacy after it used his name and likeness in promotional materials, allegedly without his permission. The case was settled in 2006.
Over the past 19 years, Woods has made good use of his 155-foot-long (47m) floating home. As well as holidays, the golfer has stayed on the superyacht during sports events such as the US Open.
The tri-deck vessel has five staterooms and can sleep up to 10 guests. It boasts an array of top-end amenities, including a cinema, a generously sized bar, an eight-person Jacuzzi, a state-of-the-art gym, and a selection of toys and tenders.
As the name would suggest, Woods likes to keep things private when it comes to his superyacht and the interiors are something of a mystery. However, this render of the VIP suite by design firm Carol Williamson & Associates gives you a rough idea of the aesthetic.
As for maintenance, the nine-crew Privacy reportedly costs up to $2 million (£1.6m) a year to operate, though this is small change for Woods. The veteran golfer was certified a billionaire by Forbes last year and is currently worth $1.1 billion (£888m).
This elegant 231-foot (70m) explorer superyacht has a rather chequered history.
Completed in 2002 for American tycoon Roy Speer, the Danish-built Royal Denship vessel was sold in 2009 to former Renault F1 boss Flavio Briatore for an estimated $87 million (£70m), according to Autoevolution.
After changing its name from Big Roi to Force Blue, Briatore revamped the vessel. However, Italian authorities impounded the four-deck superyacht just one year after he bought it amid allegations the tycoon had failed to pay fuel taxes.
The powers that be still allowed Briatore to charter his pride and joy, and the superyacht was leased out until 2021 before the decision was taken to put it up for auction.
The six-cabin boat was picked up by Briatore's billionaire friend, former F1 head-honcho Bernie Ecclestone, for a bargain $7.5 million (£6m).
Ecclestone has updated the retro tri-deck superyacht and it's now more luxe than ever, with sublime interiors and billionaire-worthy amenities including a cinema, a wellbeing spa, a party deck kitted out with a DJ booth, and a Jacuzzi on the upper deck.
Seemingly on the market with a price tag of €29.5 million, Force Blue should make Ecclestone a very tidy profit if he sells it. In the meantime, the vessel is also available to charter for $385,000 (£310k) a week via yacht company Fraser.
Tommy Hilfiger, pictured here with his wife Dee Ocleppo and two crew members, is bidding farewell to his Flag superyacht, which he bought from Aston Martin co-owner Lawrence Stroll back in 2017.
Built in 2000 by Dutch shipbuilder Feadship, the 204-foot-long (62m) beauty has undergone a major refit courtesy of fashion designer Hilfiger, with its seven cabins completely transformed.
The boat is said to incur annual running costs of $4 million (£3m) and has a crew of 17, reportedly including a world-class chef.
Hilfiger called on Chahan Minassian, Ralph Lauren's former European creative director, to transform the interiors. Minassian's interior vision for Flag included plush fabrics in muted hues, punctuated with fashionista accents such as Hermès sheepskin chairs, plush carpets, and "big comfy couches" (as Hilfiger revealed to GQ in 2021). In short, it's the height of tasteful luxury.
The high-end vibe extends to the decks, which feature a pool and stunning chillout and dining areas.
Guests can flit between the four decks via an elevator, with a range of toys and tenders at their disposal if they fancy taking a dip.
With space for 14, Flag has played host to A-listers that range from Lewis Hamilton and Bella Hadid to Kendall Jenner and her "momager" Kris Jenner.
Despite its ample size, Hilfiger and his wife have deemed the superyacht too small for their family and famous friends, and are now looking for something bigger. But if Flag fails to sell at the right price, the designer told Boat International he'd be "very happy" to keep it because it's "an amazing boat".
That said, Hilfiger seems open to offers. The asking price of the vessel, which is joint-listed with Burgess and Merle Wood & Associates, was recently reduced by $3 million (£2m) to $42.2 million (£34m).
From one mega-rich designer's superyacht to another. This streamlined stunner belongs to Stefano Gabbana, who, as the co-founder of Dolce & Gabanna, has a net worth of $2.2 billion (£2bn), according to Forbes.
Built in 2019 and measuring in at 213 feet (65m) long, the Regina d'Italia is the handiwork of venerable Italian shipyard Codecasa. Valued at $60 million (£48m), it reportedly costs a hefty $6 million (£5m) a year to run.
SuperYachtFan reports that Gabbana's business partner Dominico Dolce also owns a smaller, cheaper superyacht named Fatima.
The Regina d'Italia replaced a previous superyacht of the same name. Shown here is a shot of the original boat's interior, which rocks the decadent Dolce & Gabbana aesthetic to perfection. It's not hard to imagine that the new superyacht's décor is similar.
The upgrade has seven sumptuous cabins that can accommodate around a dozen guests, who'll have their every whim catered to by the 16 crew members. The amenities are top-notch and include a beauty salon, cutting-edge entertainment system, and even an elevator.
The first incarnation of the Regina d'Italia welcomed supermodels and stars including Kylie Minogue, while the new version (together with Dolce's Fatima) recently served as a venue for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Scott's $14.2 million (£12m) wedding in May 2022.

Staying with mega-wealthy Italian fashion designers, Giorgio Armani's Maìn superyacht is estimated to be worth even more, with SuperYachtFan suggesting it has a value of around $65 million (£53m).
Pictured here in September at Venice's Historical Regatta, the military-inspired vessel cuts a striking figure when it's close to land. However, its dark green colour was actually chosen to camouflage it at sea so it doesn't appear "too flashy" (as revealed by BOAT International).
Like Gabbana, Armani enlisted Codecasa to build the 213-foot-long (65m) superyacht, with the fashion luminary heavily involved in the design. Maìn was completed in 2008 and takes its moniker from his mother's childhood nickname.
In terms of the aesthetic, Armani's quintessential minimalism combines with his signature palette of dark and neutral hues to produce the boat's achingly stylish interiors and deck areas. Furniture from the Armani brand is incorporated throughout.
As well as seven staterooms for 14 guests, Maìn features a cinema, gym, spa pool, premium toys and tenders, plus a variety of other upscale amenities.
A fixture in the Mediterranean's most exclusive resorts, the superyacht has a crew of 14 and estimated annual running costs of $4 million (£3m). However, that shouldn't be a problem for the world's richest fashion designer. Armani is currently worth $11.6 billion (£10bn).
The fabulous boats of globally renowned fashion designers account for four entries in our top 10. However, technically speaking, centimillionaire Diane von Fürstenberg's spectacular superyacht Eos actually belongs to her husband, media mogul Barry Diller, who has a $4 billion (£3bn) fortune.
Built by the renowned German shipyard Lürssen, the 305-feet-long (93m) Eos broke the record to become the world's largest sailing yacht upon its completion in 2006.
Von Fürstenberg didn't design the interiors, which are a closely guarded secret. Instead, the aesthetic was the vision of François Catroux, the go-to interior decorator for European aristocrats. However, Diana was the inspiration for the schooner's figurehead.
The superyacht has eight suites with space for 16 guests, who are looked after by a crew of 21. Arguably one of the most star-studded superyachts, Eos has welcomed a long list of A-list celebrities aboard over the years, including Oprah, Harry Styles, Karlie Kloss, Bradley Cooper, and Irina Shayak.
Jeff Bezos has also stayed onboard, and the superyacht may have inspired his own showstopping boat, which we'll explore shortly.
It's not all been smooth sailing for Eos. The boat was damaged by a fire in 2012 and the repair was likely to have been painfully expensive, as is the vessel's annual upkeep, which is estimated to be $7 million (£5.8m) a year.
One of just a handful of billionaire sportspeople, Michael Jordan is worth $2 billion (£1.6bn). With a bank balance that vast, he can buy just about anything he desires, including his very own superyacht.
The basketball legend treated himself to an $8 million (£7m) sportsfish yacht called Catch 23 in 2018, but really went to town in December 2022 when he bagged the 244-foot-long (75m) M'Brace.
M'Brace's original owner, the Travelex tycoon Lloyd Dorfman, paid $115 million (£93m) for the boat, according to SuperYachtFan.
Jordan has also been linked to the $80 million (£65m) Joy superyacht – mainly because it has a basketball court on one of its decks – but that particular vessel is actually owned by the Indian billionaire Sameer Gehlaut.
The German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen delivered M'Brace in 2018. The superyacht features a number of top-end features, including a fabulous pool, a fully equipped gym, and even underwater lighting.
There are eight suites for 12 guests, while the crew is 18 people strong.
British design company Harrison Eidsgaard oversaw the interiors, which have a laid-back contemporary feel. Maintaining a superyacht of this calibre can be onerous even for a billionaire, with M'Brace's annual running costs estimated to be as much as $11 million (£9m).
Jordan does hire the boat out via Yacht Charter Fleet, where it's available to charter for around $1.1 million (£888k) a week during the summer season.
Christened in honour of his seven children, Steven Spielberg's Seven Seas superyacht was completed last year by the Netherlands-based Oceanco at an estimated cost of $250 million (£202m).
The sensational 358-footer (109m) replaced a smaller Oceanco superyacht of the same name, which the Hollywood director had purchased in 2010 for a reported $200 million (£121m). He later sold it to Canadian billionaire Barry Zekelman in 2018, who rechristened it Man of Steel.
By all accounts, the blockbuster sequel to Spielberg's original superyacht is nothing short of a triumph.
Like the OG, which played host to the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Blake Lively, the all-new Seven Seas is a guaranteed celebrity magnet. It's little wonder: its plush interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, gorgeous exterior spaces, and five-star amenities are all huge draws.
In total, the superyacht can accommodate 14 guests across its seven lavish staterooms and has a crew of 30.
Concrete details about Spielberg's new superyacht are few and far between. It's thought the Oscar-winning moviemaker has had a large pool and spa pool installed and it reportedly has a helipad, which would make sense given that the previous Seven Seas had one on its upper deck.
As you might imagine, running costs are steep, with reports suggesting they could be as much as $20 million (£16m) a year. Regardless, Spielberg, who's worth around $4.8 billion (£4bn), appears to have decided against renting out the boat for now.
Originally delivered to Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison in 2004, the Lürssen-built Rising Sun was acquired by media mogul David Geffen in 2010.
Rumoured to be worth over $400 million (£323m) and home to more than 80 rooms, the 454-foot (138m) vessel is considered one of the largest yachts in the world.
According to SuperYachtFan, Rising Sun has eight staterooms that can accommodate 16 guests, who are attended to by 45 crew members.
The superyacht has welcomed aboard some of the biggest names in movies, TV, and music over the years, including Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and Sir Paul McCartney. Oprah Winfrey is pictured here on the boat in 2019 with Gayle King, Geffen, his husband, and another guest.
Other VIP guests have included Barack and Michelle Obama, who visited in 2017. They would have enjoyed the superyacht's fittingly superlative amenities, which include a cinema, wine cellar, and a helipad.
Needless to say, this boat takes high maintenance to a new level. Even Geffen, who's worth $8 billion (£7bn), must baulk at the running costs, which SuperYachtFan estimates can get as high as $40 million (£32m) annually.
Putting other A-list superyachts firmly in the shade is Jeff Bezos' magnificent Koru. With a length of 417 feet (127m) and masts that reach as high as 230 feet (70m), it's officially the world's largest (not to mention tallest) sailing yacht.
Amazon founder Bezos, who's worth $163.1 billion (£132bn), spent an estimated $500 million (£404m) on Koru, which was delivered in April from Oceanco's shipyard. The incredible boat is expected to cost up to $25 million (£20m) a year to run.
The superyacht has a Māori name that represents growth, strength, and peace, as well as new beginnings. While its aesthetic is inspired by Māori art, the interior designers behind the boat haven't been named.
Interiors aside, the boat can comfortably accommodate 18 guests and 40 crew members, while the aft deck wows with a supersized pool.
Koru is so fabulously over the top that it even has its own support superyacht, Abeona, which is estimated to have cost a further $75 million (£61m).
In June, Bezos was snapped (shown here) aboard Koru, which was anchored off Portofino in Italy at the time. Relaxing alongside him was his partner Lauren Sánchez, who is said to have been the model for the vessel's figurehead.
The boat has already enticed some major guests on board. In August, Bezos and Sánchez celebrated their engagement on the superyacht, throwing a bash attended by VIPs such as Bill Gates, the Queen of Jordan, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
