The 2025 Formula 1 (F1) season is here, and while reigning champion Max Verstappen remains the man to beat, the likes of Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will be returning to the grid to challenge him. Meanwhile, a handful of promising rookies are making their debuts.

Racing is in Andrea Kimi Antonelli's blood – the Italian driver is the son of sportscar racer Marco Antonelli.

Following an impressive F2 season last year, Mercedes announced that the 18-year-old hotshot would replace Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 F1 season after Hamilton’s shock move to Ferrari. Gabriel Bortoleto will make his F1 debut this year with Kick Sauber, becoming the first Brazilian to compete full-time in the sport since Felipe Massa in 2017. Last season's F2 champion, the 20-year-old started karting at just seven years old.

His net worth is currently unknown, but the up-and-comer has already secured a three-year endorsement deal with chocolate brand KitKat, with more brands likely to capitalise on his rising profile in the near future. Like his fellow debutant Antonelli, his salary is reportedly $2 million (£1.6m).

French-Algerian driver Isack Hadjar is set to make his F1 debut with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls this season. 

The 20-year-old started karting in 2012 at just eight years old. His promotion comes after a stellar 2024 F2 season, where he secured four wins and eight podiums.

Like other F1 newcomers, Hadjar's net worth is currently unknown, though endorsement deals will surely follow for the rookie if he gets off to a good start. He's reportedly set to earn between $500,000 (£386k) and $1 million (£772k).

British racer Oliver Bearman served as a Ferrari reserve in 2024 and made his F1 debut in Saudi Arabia that year, stepping in when Carlos Sainz was ill. After impressing on the grid, the 19-year-old secured a full-time seat with Haas for the 2025 season.

Bearman's estimated net worth stands at around $1.3 million (£1m). Tipped to become the next big name in the sport, the teen racer has already secured partnership deals with brands including Deus X and Eurospares.

New Zealand native Liam Lawson was announced as Sergio Perez's replacement and Max Verstappen's Red Bull Racing teammate for the 2025 F1 season. Japanese racer Yuki Tsunoda made his Formula One debut in 2021 with Red Bull's AlphaTauri, now rebranded to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.

Tsunoda's rise to the top tier of motorsport has been remarkably fast. In just four years, he progressed from competing in F4 to F1.

British racing legend Lewis Hamilton is recognised as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. He debuted in 2007 with McLaren, narrowly missing out on a World Championship title in his rookie season. However, he clinched the win the following year, becoming the youngest-ever Formula One world champion at the time.

After several successful seasons with McLaren, Hamilton switched to Mercedes in 2013, going on to win six more World Championship titles with the team and cementing his status as an all-time great. Last year, he was the second-highest-paid driver in the sport, earning a salary of $57 million (£44m) with Mercedes.

At 40 years old, Hamilton is estimated to be worth up to $453 million (£350m). The racer switched to Ferrari for the 2025 season in a move that shocked the racing world when it was announced.
