Taylor Swift is at number one, but you might be surprised who else made a fortune on the road last year. Here are 2015’s top earning tours.
Neil Diamond
With tickets costing fans an average $106.87 (£74.78), Neil Diamond’s 2015 self-titled tour sold 636,287 tickets to the tour’s 68 shows. This earned him $68 million (£47.6M) making the 2015 Neil Diamond Tour one of the highest earning of the year.

Shania Twain
The Rock This Country tour proved Shania Twain to still be one of the most popular entertainers in the industry. With 703,148 tickets sold for the 69 shows, she raked in $69 million (£48.3M).

Billy Joel
Billy Joel’s 29-show tour made him $69.9 million (£48.9M). It sold 656,522 tickets and lands him the 18th spot on this list.

Luke Bryan
His Kick Up The Dust tour rewarded Luke Bryan with a $71.8 million (£50.2M) paycheck. The tour lasted 75 shows and sold a total of 1,294,160 tickets.
Maroon 5
Maroon 5 has long been a favorite pop rock band, so it’s no surprise that their V tour did so well, selling 882,569 tickets and making them $72 million (£50.4M).

Violetta
Disney’s Violetta Live international tour is a somewhat surprising entry to the list. But after bringing in $76.8 million (£53.7M),it takes the 15th spot after selling over 1,049,323 tickets to their 145 shows.

Elton John
After playing 86 shows on his Wonderful Crazy Night tour, Elton John has managed to earn $77.6 million (£54.3M) from the 623,343 tickets he’s sold.
Paul McCartney
The Out There tour stretched over two years with Paul McCartney putting on 23 shows and selling 498,844 $155.76 (£109) tickets to bring his tour earnings up to $77.7 million (£54.4M).
Kevin Hart
The only comedian to make the list, Kevin Hart took his act on the road to make 137 different audiences laugh ‘til it hurt. With tickets costing $73 (£51), he sold 1,126,027 and brought in an impressive $82.2 million (£57.5M).
Madonna
Besides being at the front of the tabloids for her eccentric ways, Madonna also embarked on her Rebel Heart world tour performing 50 shows along the way. Selling 693,061 tickets at an average $127.55 (£89.30), the pop icon raked in $88.4 million (£61.9M).

The Rolling Stones
The Stones’ Zip Code tour hit its fair share of addresses, but compared to other tours on this list, the iconic band’s time on the road was fairly limited. Playing just 14 North American shows, they sold 628,733 tickets with the highest cost per ticket of all these tours at $174.50 (£122.10), bringing their revenue up to $109.7 million (£76.8M).

Garth Brooks
The Garth Brooks World Tour made 120 stops to make $114.9 million (£80.40M) and sell a whopping 1,782,224 tickets at about $64.47 (£45.11) each.
Kenny Chesney
Country superstar Kenny Chesney took the stage for his wildly successful Big Revival tour in 2015, which earned him $116.4 million (£81.5M). Along the 57 dates he sold 1,363,190 tickets to the tour.
Ed Sheeran
The year 2015 was massive for Ed Sheeran. After releasing his X album, he went on to travel the world for an exhausting 110-show tour which included three sold out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium where he was joined by Sir Elton John for a guest appearance. When all was said and done, he earned $117.3 million (£82M) for the tour after selling 1,823,410 tickets to his adoring fans.
Fleetwood Mac
In between headlining festivals, Fleetwood Mac managed to perform 78 sold out shows for their On With The Show worldwide tour. The timeless act sold 995,939 tickets to bring their earnings up to an admirable $125.1 million (£87.5M).
Foo Fighters
Their 67 show Sonic Highways tour sold 1,682,053 tickets and with the average ticket costing fans $75.50 (£52.83), the rock band made a $127 million (£88.9M) profit from this tour.
U2
After mysteriously landing their album on all Apple user’s iTunes accounts, U2 hit the road to bring their Innocence + Experience world tour to the 1,286,416 fans that bought tickets. Costing an average $118.35 (£82.81) per ticket, the band ended up making a whopping $152.2 million (£106.5M) after all 76 stops.
One Direction
In 2015, the boys of One Direction piled onto their tour buses for their On the Road Again world tour. Regardless of starting out as a fivesome and ending as a group of four after Zayn Malik’s surprise exit, the boys still managed to bring in an impressive $158.8 million (£111.1M). With 70 shows, 1D sold 1,729,470 tickets at an average price of $91.82 (£64.25).
AC/DC
With 2,310,061 tickets sold at about $77.92 (£54.52) each but just 54 gigs played, AC/DC’s Rock or Bust world tour brought the band a whopping $180 million (£125.6M).
Taylor Swift
With ticket prices averaging a hefty $110.15 (£77.07) Taylor Swift takes top spot on the list after earning $250.40 million (£175.21M) with her glitzy 1989 world tour. Flying from North America to Asia, Taylor managed to make an impressive 83 stops around the globe selling 2,273,328 tickets.
