Writing their way to a fortune
Believe it or not, writing can make you rich. We count down the 11 best-selling authors between June 2017 and June 2018, according to Forbes, who together raked in a collective $283 million (£219m).
Joint 10th: EL James
It’s fair to say that EL James has been a phenomenon. When the first book of the Fifty Shades trilogy hit bookshelves in 2012 it created so much hype that it allegedly even increased sales of items such as duct tape and cable ties at hardware stores.
