Covering 19 stunning miles (30.5km), the Palisades Scenic Byway connects the George Washington Bridge at Fort Lee in New Jersey with acres of parkland across the state border in New York. The byway makes the most of the 500-foot-tall (152m) Palisades Cliffs (pictured), offering countless scenic viewpoints and picnic spots along the way. Traveling north along the Hudson River, the byway is an excellent outdoor escape from the city and the surrounding urban areas.
