You won't believe the lengths some people will go to mimic their favorite star or fictional character. Whether you put it down to obsessive fanboy or fangirl-dom, severe body dysmorphia, or plain old attention-seeking, here are 15 OTT idol makeovers to make your jaw drop.
BEFORE surgery: Jordan James Parke
Make-up artist Jordan James Parke has taken his adoration for Kim Kardashian to the extreme, and claims to have splashed $150,000 (£114k) on more than 50 cosmetic procedures in a bid to emulate the reality star.

The 24-year-old from Birmingham, England, has gone the whole hog, opting for pumped 'boob job' lips, on-fleek tattoo brows and copious injections of Botox, not to mention full body laser hair removal and vampire facials.

The spitting image of her idol, it's probably safe to say that transgender model Thalia Almodovar, 29, has the edge on Jordan James Parke in the Kim Kardashian lookalike stakes. The dead ringer has spent over $100,000 (£76k) on surgery to resemble Mrs West.

Almodovar transitioned to female during her late teens, and underwent a butt augmentation and several breast enlargements in her 20s. Like the real deal, the Kardashian superfan completes her look with contouring make-up, hair extensions and a swish designer wardrobe.

Hot on Parke and Almodovar's heels, Keeping up with the Kardashians fan James Holt, a 24-year-old from Bury, England has splurged more than $13,000 (£10k) on lip fillers, cheek fillers, Botox and brow shaping in an attempt to copy Kylie Jenner's look.

The reality star obsessive had his first procedure at the age of 17 and hasn't looked back. Holt is planning a nose job, chin implant and butt surgery next, and is even prepared to have six of his ribs removed.

In 2014, Kitty, a 30-year-old animal trainer from Texas, dropped a cool $25,000 (£19,000) on a variety of cosmetic procedures to make her look like her idol, Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.

The Texan native, who reckons she closely resembled J-Law even before the surgeries, underwent lipo to her face and body, a breast augmentation, a nose job and fat grafts to her cheeks and buttocks.

German-born Tobias Strebel aka Toby Sheldon famously spent $100,000 (£76k) on plastic surgery to ape Justin Bieber's looks, appearing on the E! show Botched and TLC's My Strange Addiction to show off the results.

The Bieber superfan had everything from hair transplants and eyebrow filler to 'smile surgery' and lip augmentation. Tragically, 35-year-old Strebel was found dead last August in a San Fernando motel room following a drug overdose.

Real-life Barbie dolls are no rarity, but 30-year-old Moldovan-born Ukrainian model Valeria Lukyanova is considered the most uncanny. Believe it or not, apart from breast implants, Lukyanova claims she hasn't had any plastic surgery.

Nannette Hammond, a 42-year-old homemaker from Ohio spent a lot more money to nail her Barbie transformation – Hammond shelled out a massive $500,000 (£380k) on surgeries to get the look.

The Barbie-mad surgery fan has has three breast augmentations, Botox, veneers, tattoo make-up and regular maintenance procedures. And Hammond has no plans to stop – she intends to have work done right up until her 70s.

Dubbed 'the human Ken doll', 35-year-old Justin Jedlica had his first surgery, a nose job, at the age of 18. To date, Jedlica has undergone an eye-watering 190 procedures in his quest to look like Barbie's boyfriend.

The surgery veteran, who has appeared on TV shows like E!'s Botched, has spent more than $300,000 (£228k) customizing his face and body, and will stop at nothing to perfect his look – he even risked blindness to remove a forehead vein.

There's no shortage of cosmetic surgery addicts who want to look like Barbie's beau. Enter human Ken doll number two, Rodrigo Alves, a 32-year-old flight attendant who lives between London and Spain.

The Ken double has forked out a whopping $466,000 (£355k) on 42 procedures, including seven nose jobs, pec and ab implants, and regular Botox, but his cosmetic surgery journey hasn't all been plain sailing. Earlier this year, Alves almost lost his re-worked nose after contracting a flesh-eating bug.

Possibly the most convincing Ken doll lookalike, Brazilian model Celso Santebañes spent almost $40,000 (£30k) on several major cosmetic surgeries and minor procedures in his mission to look like the iconic Mattel doll.

A media celebrity in his native Brazil, Santebañes' career was cruelly cut short when he was diagnosed with leukemia early last year. Sadly, the 20-year-old passed away in June 2015 after a five-month battle with the illness.

Superman superfan Herbert Chavez, who has been obsessed with the Man of Steel since the age of four, has undergone more than 40 surgeries and procedures to nail the superhero's distinctive look.

Now 39, Chavez has had surgery on his eyes, nose, lips, chins and hips, and plans to have blue contact lenses permanently implanted in his eyes, as well as a gruesome leg-lengthening op, which is considered the most painful cosmetic surgery.

One of the more out-there transformations in our round-up, Krystina Butel, 31, from Wakefield, England, splurged $176,000 (£134k) on breast augmentations, lip fillers and various other procedures, to look like a caricature she had sketched for her on vacation in Ibiza when she was 16.

Inspired by the sketch, Butel had her first surgery, a boob job, at the age of 17. “When I saw the caricature for the first time on holiday, I was jealous of it,” she said. “She was so glamorous. She was everything that I wanted to be.”

Danish Ronaldo superfan Shanta lives and breathes for the Real Madrid player and has spent thousands of dollars on haircuts, eyebrow waxes, facials and designer clothing to imitate his soccer idol.

The 18-year-old has met the real Ronaldo fives times, and regularly travels to the Bernabeu stadium in Madrid to catch a glimpse of the Portuguese international or if he's lucky, snap a cheeky selfie.

Swedish born model Pixee Fox, 25, has parted with more than $135,000 (£100k) to achieve her dream of looking like carton character Jessica Rabbit, complete with an itty-bitty waist, inflated breasts and surgically enhanced face.

Fox, who currently lives in the US, has had four breast augmentations, lipo, three nose jobs and a Brazilian butt lift. And if she can find a doctor willing to perform the op, the real-life cartoon vamp wants to have six ribs removed next.

Hoping to become the real life Incredible Hulk, Brazilian bodybuilder Romario dos Santos Alves, used Synthol, a potentially deadly cocktail of oil, painkillers and alcohol to pump up his muscles to freakish proportions.

The 26-year-old lifter has diced with death, risking his short and long-term health by injecting the toxic substance. In fact, following a particularly severe infection, Alves came close to having both his arms amputated at one point.
