A New Beginning For Fool.co.uk

Updated on 16 December 2008 | 0 Comments

Bruce Jackson, the managing director of The Motley Fool UK, introduces our new look website.

This September The Motley Fool will celebrate its ninth birthday. Started way back in 1997 - eons ago in Internet time - through our best selling books and multi award winning website, we've long been helping people make better financial decisions.

Over time, our message has been both consistent and simple.

  • You can take control of your own money. Armed with a little knowledge, a little time, and a little motivation, I'd argue that every single person in the country could improve their financial well-being. We'd like to think we've helped and encouraged thousands of people to do just that.
  • Vote with your feet. There are better products out there. Forget loyalty to banks, building societies and financial services organisations in general. Compare financial products and switch to better ones. End of story.

Today, the Fool.co.uk website is your number one source for independent financial comparison. You can quickly and easily compare ALL personal finance products in the main areas of.

A Brand New Website

We are today completely re-launching the Fool.co.uk website. Here are the main features and changes.

  • The site is centre aligned to be more browser friendly.

  • We have cleaner, fresher colours and structure.

  • The left hand navigation offers quick and easy access to our main content areas - Your Money, Saving Money, Get Out Of Debt, Property & Home, Retirement & Pensions and Investments. Updated regularly, in each of them you'll find a wealth of information and content, all designed to help you make better financial decisions.

  • The left navigation content changes to reflect the area of the site you are in, offering valuable contextual information.

  • At the very top of the site, we have made it very easy to access our incredibly popular discussion boards, as well as My Fool and share price quotes.

  • The code of the site has been upgraded to maximise accessibility and search.

  • And lots more.

We hope you like it, and more importantly, feel comfortable using it to get all the information and product offerings you need in order to improve your finances.

In the coming weeks and months, we'll continue our process of constantly improving the website and the content and tools within the site. Here at Fool.co.uk, we are constantly evolving, constantly improving, aiming to give you the best customer experience possible. We feel as if the new website is a giant step in the right direction, but we're not done yet!

As ever, we encourage your feedback. Please feel free to post a message on our Improve The Fool discussion board. Although we can't guarantee a reply to every single post, we'll be reading them all. We fully realise the new site won't be to everyone's liking, so we expect some fireworks.

I'll leave with a quote by Harold Wilson I found on the Brainy Quote website."He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery".

Here at Fool.co.uk we embrace change. Onwards and upwards.
