£175 from First Direct or Lloyds for switching

Banks are desperately trying to lure customers away from each other – and this means you can bag yourself £175 just for switching current accounts!

First Direct is offering £175 for those moving to its 1st Account and this also gives you access to a linked regular saver that pays 7% interest.

You can also get £175, as well as 12 months of access to Disney+ through the Club Lloyds account from Lloyds Bank. However, there’s a £3 a month fee unless you pay in £2,000 a month.

You’ll find more details of each offer and how to apply in our guide to the best switching bonuses.

Half-price Amazon Prime / 4 months free Amazon Music

Amazon is currently offering 50% off the cost of Amazon subscriptions for 18- to 22-year-olds, meaning you'll only pay £4.49 per month or £47.49 a year.

Helpfully, this is available on top of the existing six-month free trial, so eligible customers can effectively get 18 months' access for under £50.

Already a Prime member? Amazon is also offering four months' free access to Amazon Music (available to all age groups). You'll be charged £9.99 a month thereafter.

Half-price toys at Tesco

Tesco is offering 50% off selected toys at 270 of its biggest stores in the run up to Christmas.

The deal is in conjunction with The Entertainer and you don’t need a Clubcard to get savings on brands including Hot Wheels, the Early Learning Centre and Peppa Pig.

The closing date is Sunday 3 November or while stocks last.

40,000 bonus points with Amex

The Amex Platinum credit card (purchase rate 31.0%) comes with a host of attractive perks, although it’s only really suitable for those who can spend heavily and clear their debt in full each month.

Platinum cardholders get free worldwide travel insurance, preferential airfares, late checkout in hotels and a host of other offers thrown in as standard.

It also rewards you with one Membership Reward point per £1 spent, which can be converted into vouchers to spend with various shopping, travel and lifestyle partners.

However, in a bid to attract new customers, Amex has announced you can earn 40,000 points when you spend £6,000 within three months of opening your account.

You can also bag an extra 12,000 points if you successfully invite a friend to sign up for a card of their own.

Learn more about the Amex offer here

Clearly, there are some pretty eye-catching rewards to be earned with this card.

However, it’s important to stress that it also comes with a whopping annual fee of £650 so it isn’t for everybody.

That’s why we can’t stress enough this is only suitable for those who plan to spend heavily on their card and clear the debt in full each month.
