Current Discounts And Deals #67

Fancy a film for £3, 50% off trainers, 70% off garden furniture or 50% off luxurious lingerie? Look no further!

Thanks to more bad news on inflation, the housing market and utilities prices this week, this latest edition of Money Saving Tips might find you in sombre mood.

But chins up, Fools. Justifying the odd little luxury is far easier when you're armed with discounts and deals like these -- and so is balancing your budget!

Films and games

As always, there's a host of great offers available on DVDs and games this weekend.

Sonic fans can save £29 on the Sonic And The Secret Rings game for the Wii at SoftUk.com; it's down from £39.99 to £10.77.

Elsewhere, Nintendo DS gamers will find The World Ends With You reduced by £12 at Dvd.co.uk. It's now £17.99.

If it's film you're after, Tesco Jersey has a selection of modern classics on offer from £2. Highlights include Raging Bull (£3), Jerry Maguire (£3) and Gladiator (£4).

Also at Tesco Jersey, Red Dwarf fans can get their hands on all eight series of the spacey sitcom for £6 each. Hurrah!

Over at Asda, The Goonies, Police Academy and Gremlins are available in an 80s-tastic box set priced at just £4.94. That's £13.06 off the RRP.

And anyone who loves Hugh Laurie's misanthropic doctor House might also love this next offer: WHSmith.co.uk has reduced this seasons one to three box set by a hefty 60%. It's down from £69.99 to £27.99, so fans will now get more medical mysteries for their money.

Finally, here's one for horror aficionados. Play.com has discounted this 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later box set from £24.99 to just £5.99, offering a saving of £19. The price reduction's friendly enough -- but some of the characters in these fear-inducing films definitely aren't!

Fashion and food

There's also good news for fashion fans looking for cheap clobber this weekend.

Blackleaf.com has a selection of Converse trainers with up to 50% off -- great news for anyone in need of a cheap and chic casual wardrobe update.

If it's footwear you're interested in, both Dune and Faith are continuing their final clearance sales. There's up to 50% off selected footwear for both men and women, so bargain hunters should get clicking!

And Amazon is also continuing its footwear sale -- there's up to 75% off selected shoes, boots and sandals.

If you might be tempted by some luxurious lingerie, this next offer could be right up your street: Agent Provocateur is offering up to 50% off selected items in its underwear range.

Meanwhile, although the high street shops are increasingly flooded with new autumn/winter garments, there are still bargains to be found in some clearance sales. Debenhams is still offering up to 70% off clothes, accessories and homewares, while Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins and Next are also offering final reductions.

Anyone looking to eat out this weekend might be interested in Handbag.com's 2 for 1 offer at Zizzi restaurants. Simply log on to the website, download your voucher and enjoy! The offer is valid from Sundays to Thursdays only, until 10 September.

Finally, chocoholics can benefit from discounts of up to 30% off selected sweeties from Hotel Chocolat right now. Yum!

Beauty, gadgets, children and home

There's a selection of special offers available at Boots.com this weekend. If you spend £60 in a single online transaction you'll get 600 Advantage Card points free, while if you purchase two or more Clinique products together you'll receive a bonus of 750.

There are also 3 for 2 deals on selected healthcare products and a buy one, get one free offer on suncare -- so if your summer holiday is still to come, this could be your chance to stock up.

At Tesco, there's an offer on one of my favourite beauty products ever this weekend. When you buy one bottle of Palmer's Cocoa Butter, you'll get another free. Fools averse to smelling too chocolatey can opt for the fragrance-free version -- it has all the moisturising properties without the rich scent.

Gadget lovers may be interested in Play.com's offer on these Sony wireless headphones, discounted to £29.99. They aren't due for release until 9 September, but if you pre-order them now you'll get a super 70% off the RRP.

There's also a selection of discounts and deals available on toys this weekend. At Mothercare, there's up to 75% off a range of gifts and playthings.

Woolworths has also reduced a selection of children's toys. My favourite is this cool and cute play house, now half price at £30.

And any young students -- or parents! -- eagerly awaiting the beginning of the new school year might find this offer from Adams of interest. There's currently a third off schoolwear, and delivery is free when you order from the website.

Homewares hunters can also grab their share of bargains this weekend. This aqua bale of four towels and two facecloths is currently available from Argos for just £4.99.

At Woolworths, this eight piece outdoor furniture set is reduced by a whopping 70%, from £299 to £70 -- so it could be a good investment for next summer, even if this year's warm days are almost over.

And finally, here's a special treat for Tesco shoppers feeling the food bill squeeze: if you enter the code XXTDEA when you spend £50 at Tesco.com, you'll get £5 off your groceries (as long as they're delivered before 24 August). As they say, every little helps!

Have a fun and Foolish weekend.

Offers which continue to be valid:

Also at Play.com, Disney's The Jungle Book is available for a bargainous £7.99. The film, which has £14 off its usual price, comes with a whole host of special features to celebrate its fortieth anniversary.

There's also a great deal available on this complete Fawlty Towers box set. It's currently on offer for £12.99 from HMV.com, reduced by £6.80.

Anyone in need of a portable music player might be interested in this Sony Video Walkman MP3 player. It's on offer at £39.99 at Play.com -- that's £60 off the original price.

Harry Potter fans might be interested in pre-ordering J.K. Rowling's new release, The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, from Waterstones.com. It's available for £4.99 delivered -- that's the cheapest price on the web.

If you fancy taking a trip across the channel but don't want to break the bank, P & O Ferries is offering trips from Dover to Calais for just £2 for foot passengers and from £15 for cars carrying up to nine people. Terms and conditions apply.
