Tesco launches Clubcard Perks loyalty scheme

Clubcard members can now enjoy more discounts via a new Tesco rewards programme.
Tesco has launched a new rewards programme for Clubcard members called Clubcard Perks.
It offers money-off coupons based on your shopping habits (recorded through your Clubcard usage), and savings on financial products sold via Tesco Bank including loans, mortgages and home insurance.
More enticingly, it also has several other money-off offers, which it calls Extra Perks. These currently include:
- a meal for two with wine at Ask for £20;
- two-for-one tickets for Merlin Entertainments’ attractions including Alton Towers and Legoland;
- £15 off BA economy flights to Europe.
It was also offering up to £15 credit off train fares via redspottedhanky.com, but this offer was so popular it has already been withdrawn.
To redeem the perks, all you need to do is log-in (or register if you haven’t done so already, although note that registration can take 48 hours to process) to your Clubcard online account. You then add the Extra Perks to your basket and checkout.
Tesco has also moved its Clubcard TV service, which offers free streaming TV shows and films using its acquisition of Blinkbox, into Clubcard Perks. The selection still isn’t great yet, with the films mostly at least ten years old, but it could well improve over time.
Even if you don’t shop at Tesco, it could be well worth getting a Clubcard to take advantage of these offers.
If you are a Clubcard points collector, don’t forget that the latest Clubcard Exchange is now running until 2nd July. You can find out more about this in Tesco relaunches Clubcard Exchange.

I think Tesco are getting desperate.They were ( perhaps are) market leaders but are not getting any bigger. I find their offers rather poor relative to Asda. But the points do keep you spending. I have a Clubcard Plus and a Tesco Credit Card. I use the points for Eurotunnel crossings that appear to me to be 'free'. The meat is crap at Tesco and you will find Coop meat far better, and plus a cash dividend too. Aldi and Lidl do NOT take credit cards as they sell their goods for cash before they pay their suppliers, a brilliant way to run a business from their point of view. This was told to me by one of the area managers. I do not know where volvonut lives but not in Leicester! Only Lidl do branded goods too, Aldi do their own copies which may or may not be the same quality.You will never beat the system as the odds are against you but you can spend a lot of time and money trying. Try Farmfoods and Home Bargains and you will start to win a few more 'rounds'.

To Majortruth I also use Asda I find their meat much better than telco,I have no idea where you get the idea that Aldi and Lidle are pc,as both our local stores take credit cards,and most of the stock is branded,their steaks are superb

We have to take our own bags anyway here in Wales, so makes no difference as far as cost of bags go. I tend to not take much notice of Tesco offers because I don't spend enough to qualify for the £7 off when spending £50 or more, nor did I shop often enough to make use of the £5 off if I spent £40 each week. I have the same problem with these price matching vouchers, another con in my eyes. They have to be used quickly or they expire. So far mine have all expired before I have visited Tesco again. They track what I buy via clubcard so why do they bother sending me offers that I probably won't use. I would rather they didn't spend all the money on loyalty schemes and just charge less for their goods but then they wouldn't be able to keep track of us. They just need to learn how to use the data they are gathering.
