Last few days to get Tesco unlimited broadband for £2 a month

Updated on 27 June 2013 | 1 Comment

Time is running out to get unlimited broadband on the cheap with Tesco.

Tesco’s £2 a month unlimited broadband deal is coming to an end on 30th June.

So that leaves just a few days to take advantage of one of the cheapest deals around.

What you can get

Until the end of the month Tesco is offering unlimited broadband for just £2 a month for 12 months.

That’s £4 off what it normally costs, making the deal even better than half price.

The discount offer means you pay £16.90 a month when you include line rental (£14.90) for the whole of the 12-month contract.

If you don’t like the sound of signing up for a full year, there is a 30-day rolling contract on offer, but you will have to pay a £40 set-up charge.

The 12-month contract doesn’t attract a fee, so the first year cost for this deal comes to £202.80. For this rock bottom price you get unlimited broadband with speeds of up to 14MB as well as free evening and weekend calls.

And if low cost unlimited broadband wasn’t enough, signing up with Tesco means you can earn Clubcard points with every bill.

How Tesco compares

It sounds like a good deal but let’s take a look at how the Tesco offer compares with other broadband and home phone packages around at the moment.

As you can see Tesco is the cheapest deal going and it doesn’t skimp on free calls and usage limits like some of the other packages that are more expensive.

The Plusnet deal for example only provides weekend calls and offers just 10GB of broadband usage, but charges over £13 more.

With Tesco you get to call people for free in the evenings as well as on the weekends and get unlimited downloads.

However, even though Tesco offers unlimited broadband it comes with a fair usage policy which it says is in place to prevent abuse.

The caveat is used by a fair few broadband companies at the moment, leaving a gap for some to bring out truly unlimited packages.

The only deal that offers truly unlimited usage in the top six broadband and home phone deals above is the Talk Talk Essentials package, but you have to pay over £15 more for it a year.

Other offers ending soon…

If you are thinking of moving on this month, here is a roundup of the other broadband deals that you might not want to miss out on that are coming to an end on the 30th of June.
