Romantic meal
You can cut down on the cost of a romantic meal out with a voucher. There are plenty available on websites like VoucherCodes.co.uk and Voucher Cloud at well-known names like Strada, Pizza Express, Ask, Zizzi, Café Rouge and Loch Fyne.
Many won’t be available to use on Valentine’s Day itself, but you could always postpone the event until Saturday or Sunday to make a saving. That said many restaurants put on a set menu on Valentine’s Day that can be pretty affordable so keep an eye out.
But if you don’t fancy eating out there’s also some pretty decent dine-in-deals on at the supermarkets.
Tesco is offering a meal deal from its finest range. You can choose one main, a side and a dessert for £10.
And from 10th February Morrisons will have a meal for two offer where you can get a main and dessert to share plus two sides for £9.
And over at Waitrose Heston Blumenthal has created a Valentine’s Day menu you can make yourself including a starter, main, dessert and cocktail. However, with all the ingredients you might need to get, this won’t be your cheapest option!
Cards
At Moonpig.com you can buy one card and get another free. You can use the offer on all cards, not just Valentine’s cards, so unless you’ve got two lovers in your life you can use the extra card for something else like someone’s birthday.
Moonpig is also offering a free card when you buy flowers or selected gifts like this Band in a Box or this 50 Shades of Play gift set both available for £40.
Over at Funkypigeon.com when you order two or more cards you can get free delivery. So if you can find a design you like that’s cheaper, you might be able to save even more money.
