Barclaycard offers £20 fee refund on 0% balance transfer cards

Barclaycard’s market-leading 0% balance transfer credit cards are now cheaper than ever.

Barclaycard is offering a £20 fee refund on balance transfers with two of its leading deals.

The offer is available to new customers who take out either the 31-Month Platinum Visa or the 30-Month Platinum Visa.

In order to receive the £20 fee refund you need to move at least £2,000 of debt over within 60 days of receiving the card.

The fee refund will be applied to your credit card account on your third statement.

What you will pay

The Barclaycard 31-Month Platinum Visa, which comes with 31 months 0% on transfers as well as six months 0% interest on new purchases, boasts a 2.99% transfer fee.

So a £2,000 transfer normally costs £59.80 with the card. But after the fee refund the total cost will amount to just £39.80.

The Barclaycard 30-Month Platinum Visa has a lower transfer fee of 2.89%, and offers 30 months of 0% interest on balance transfers and six months 0% interest on new purchases.

A £2,000 transfer on this card normally costs £57.80, but after the discount comes to £37.80.

As you can see Barclaycard's deals now offer a cracking combination of the longest 0% periods as well as relatively small fees, so long as you transfer £2,000.

However, if you don’t need as much time there are cheaper balance transfer cards out there.

If you can clear your debt within 24 months Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland all offer cards that charge just 1.5%.

However, if you're after the cheapest balance transfer going, that comes from the Tesco Clubcard Credit Card with Low Balance Transfer Fee, which offers 12 months of 0% interest on transfers for a tiny fee of 0.65%.
