Christmas vibes are in the air, and in our new discounts and deals column, here are the latest bargains we've spotted: Waterstone's is offering half price deals on selected cookery books, together with 40% off some of its other titles including Star Wars, Simpsons and that good old childhood staple, Enid Blyton. If you're looking for a few more ideas to fill those Christmas stockings then why not check out The Body Shop, which is offering a free gift including a Mini Satsuma Body Butter and mascara when you spend over £25. There is also free delivery on all orders over £20. Continuing yesterday's cinema theme, for those looking for bargain cinema tickets, why not check out lastminute.com, which is offering tickets at any one of 14 participating VUE cinemas (unfortunately this offer is only available in London) for the bargain price of £4.25. For those seeking to bag a few free Christmas presents -- or just looking for a bargain yourself, several mobile phone companies are currently offering up to four pay-as-you-go Sim cards for nothing more than a few clicks of a button. T-Mobile offers up to two Sim cards, and both Orange and O2 are giving away up to four Sims per household free of charge. Don't forget that with Orange you can also get two tickets for the price of one every Wednesday, in conjunction with its Orange Wednesdays offer. Specsavers has a number of offers on at the moment, including a 2 for 1 deal on its glasses, together with 30% off spectacles for students and senior citizens. Finally, if you're looking to go skiing on a budget this winter, LIDL has a wide range of cheap skiwear, with snowboard jackets on offer from £29.99 and ski trousers from £19.99. Yesterday's offers which continue to be valid: Somerfield currently has lots of half-price deals on fruit and veg, meat, chilled goods and plenty of other groceries. These include 2kg of Maris Piper potatoes for £1, fresh boneless large pork leg at £2.50 per kg, and Italian-style pizzas (margherita/double pepperoni) at £1.54 each. Take a friend to the cinema for free with Dixons: spend over £399 at the online store and you can claim a `2 for 1' Vue cinema card to use throughout 2008. If you're looking for smart Christmas outfits for your sprogs, try Adams Kids -- the chain is currently offering 25 per cent off childrens' partywear. If it's time for your regular eye test, considering registering online with Vision Express. You'll get a voucher entitling you to a half-price eye examination, and one giving ten per cent off prescription glasses. BHS is currently offering £5 off all online orders over £35. Everyone loves a good book, and if you sign up to the Borders email you'll be sent a voucher worth 20% off your next purchase in-store. Boots and Marks & Spencer have their usual 3 for 2 offer on toys and gifts this Christmas -- and as Boots is giving £1 to Children in Need for every toy sold you can be doing some good at the same time. Don't forget to check out the Advantage Point machines in-store to see if there are any further offers you could be benefitting from. Early Learning Centre also has some great discounts on its toys at the moment -- including a third off its "Luxury Dolls Mansion", and £12.50 off its "Whizz Around Garage" (now £25). Head over to Debenhams to take advantage of their pre-Christmas sale -- it'll be offering 25% off all items in-store from 21-23 November. And John Lewis is offering free delivery on anything ordered online at the moment. Tesco is offering 25% off all wine and champagne when you buy six bottles or more. Nectar is continuing its special Christmas offers, with this week's deal being 50% off MyVu iPod glasses, the Samsung mini camcorder (now 18,850 points) and the Sony DVD player for 12,950 points. On a slightly different note, Vet UK is now offering free P&P not only on medicines, but also now offers a free, 48-hour courier delivery service for pet food, too. If you're likely to be visiting friends and family over the festive season and need somewhere to stay, check out Travelodge -- it's offering thousands of rooms for just £19 per night (but you'll need to book before 1 December).
