With St. Valentine's Day just around the corner, here's a few suggestions for last minute gifts and treats for the `big day'. Don't fancy wining and dining your loved one this Valentine's? Well why not curl up at home instead with a DVD? Play.com is offering two for £10 on a range of top DVDs, CDs, books, gadgets and clothing. You can even mix and match products. Place an order before 29th Feb at Waterstone's and you'll receive £70 worth of voucher codes to redeem against selected titles, including all John Grisham books and selected food and drink titles. Been meaning to head to the optician? Well ease the cost with a free eye test voucher from Vision Express and £30 off when you spend £100 or more on a complete pair of spectacles. (Of course, if you use a VDU at work, you are entitled to ask your employer for a free eye test anyway.) Film lovers should consider signing up for SeeFilmFirst, where you get the opportunity to attend special free preview screenings, often before they are released nationwide. A word of warning though, you have to be super quick to snap up tickets. So far I have only been able to get tickets for one screening, despite being quick off my heels. Offers which continue to be valid: If you're looking for a new credit card with some snazzy perks, the BMI Amex credit card is currently offering a whopping 20,000 bonus destinations miles when you sign up. Simply spend £250 within the first 90 days to qualify. 12,000 miles will bag you a return flight to destinations such as Italy, Spain or Turkey. And if you want to travel in style, you could even fly business class for a mere 18,000 miles. Taxes are not included. Men on the lookout for smart casual wear should try Savile Row Co. Several of its `weekend' shirts are now on sale for £12.50 (down from £50). And talking of clothes, George at Asda's latest offering is an office outfit for women (black bootcut trousers and a white shirt) for just £5. It's currently in stock in sizes 8-24 - but as always, we can't vouch for the quality! If you're wondering what to do with the kids this half-term, why not take the little monkeys on a trip to the zoo? Kellogg's is offering a 'free' zoo ticket on selected packs of cereal, between now and March 23rd. Just make sure you read the terms and conditions carefully -- the other ticket holder must be a full paying adult, and the offer applies to participating zoos only. If you like to curl up with a good book at night, why not check out Blackwell Online, which is offering 50% off on all Oxford World's Classics at the moment. Sticking with the book theme, bargain book site Dusty Covers sells a wide variety of new and ex-display books and audio CDs, most of which are priced at just £2.99. In addition, there's free delivery on all purchases. Time Out magazine has a mighty £91.80 (64%) off a year's subscription at the moment. If you sign up now, they'll even throw in a free 2008 diary for good measure. In addition, many of their city guides have 35% slashed off the regular price. Tesco is offering £75 discount on Hotpoint products purchased from Tesco Direct when you take out a home insurance policy. Quote 'hotpoint75' when purchasing your insurance to qualify. Also, here's a good deal for those of you with a Tesco Clubcard. Sign up to any E.On (formerly Powergen) tariff (except the 'AgeConcern' tariffs) and you'll receive 500 Clubcard Points per fuel (and 1000 for a Dual Fuel application). These points will be added to the account when the new supply goes live - and for every £1 spent on gas or electricity thereafter, you'll earn one Clubcard point. Just be aware: E.On, like all the energy companies, will probably raise its prices in the next few months. So instead of switching now, you might want to wait and see how its prices compare after an increase. Here's something a bit different that's been suggested by a Fool reader. Poundbelow is a website which lets you know about UK-based eBay items which have been listed for under a pound. You can search in particular categories or for particular items, and if you persevere you can make real savings. Just don't end up with lots of stuff you don't really want! And a real gem from Amazon. The online shopping giant has a little known price drop policy where if they lower the price on something you've bought within the past 30 days, they'll credit you with the difference. However, as with most things, if you don't ask, you don't get. Check for current prices on the website by looking through all your invoices for the past 30 days. If you've paid more than the current price, here's how to claim your money back: 1) Go to the 'Contact Us' section of the website 2) Go to 'Return and refund questions' 3) Select 'I have a question about returns that's not listed above' 4) Sign in 5) Do as instructed to claim! Just bear in mind - this policy applies only to Amazon sales - not any Marketplace purchases. And for the food connoisseurs among us, why not sign up to Toptable, where you can earn points by booking restaurant tables through their website. Currently, 6 bookings will earn you a free two or three course meal, with an automatic 200 points for signing up. If you eat out regularly, the points can quickly build up, and there are lots of offers such as 2 for 1 dining available through their regular newsletters.
