Post Office offers up to 50% off ‘Drop & Go’ postage
You can cut the cost of sending parcels at the Post Office for a limited period with its pre-paid fast track service.
The Post Office is offering a discount on parcels sent using its ‘Drop & Go’ service for a limited period this month.
Until 27th July new and existing Drop & Go users can get up to 50% off the cost of sending selected packages.
Royal Mail 1st or 2nd class medium-sized parcels (weighing up to 2kg) as well as parcels sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm (weighing between 1kg and 2kg) are eligible for a saving.
What is Drop & Go?
Drop & Go is a service that helps anyone with a lot to post but not very much time.
It's available in 11,000 Post Office branches- which make up around 97% of the network.
Those that sign up for an account can leave the mail they need sending at a participating Post Office branch, where a member of staff will check it and send it off, on the same or next day.
So rather than queuing and going through the process yourself at a counter or self-service machine, you can save time and let a Post Office worker do all the hard work for you.
You’ll have to fill in a Drop & Go Manifest form each time you use the service that lets staff know how you would like your items sent. Then a prepaid card will be charged for the cost of the postage.
There’s no minimum spend on the prepaid card plus the credit you load on doesn't expire. If you want to take the money off the card again, you can.
All the proofs of postage and receipts can be collected the next time you visit the branch.

Who could benefit
The service is open to anyone but could be beneficial to small businesses and online sellers that use sites like eBay.
Research for the Post Office found that 392 million items were sold on eBay last year, with a third of UK adults making up the sales. On average a quarter of UK adults sell more than 20 items a year through eBay.
How to take advantage of the sale
If you want to benefit from the sale you’ll need to register for a Drop & Go account.
You’ll need to fill in a short form asking about the sort of packages you tend to send, some details about you and your business (if you have one) as well as contact information.
If you are opening the Drop & Go account as an individual you will need one form of ID and one proof of address.
For a partnership, each partner will have to provide one form of ID and one proof of address.
But if you're opening an account as a Limited Company you will need to show a Certificate of Incorporation and proof of company address, as well as an authorisation letter for a named person to be in-charge of Drop & Go and proof of ID to match the name stated in the letter.
