Current Discounts And Deals #46

If you're suffering from the End-Of-Bank-Holiday Blues, check out my latest round-up of discounts and deals. With money off homewares, shoes, DVDs and hotel rooms, you'll feel cheery again in no time!

As we wave goodbye to another week, another month -- and, most importantly, another Bank Holiday -- I think most of us could be forgiven for feeling a bit flat. Knowing that there are only three Bank Holidays left this year (two of them being Christmas and Boxing Day), I'll certainly need something to lift my spirits this weekend. Luckily, there are plenty of bargains to be had both online and on the high street at the moment. At least that's something to smile about! Dress Up Your Home... And Yourself First up, there are several opportunities for sprucing up your home without breaking the bank this week. M&S has extended its special home event until 2 June -- so you can still get discounts of up to 30% off selected furniture. At the same time, there's 20% off selected homewares, including bedding, glassware and tableware. Debenhams is also continuing its home style festival until 4 June, and offering 20% off selected ranges. Elsewhere, you can find discounts of up to 70% off a selection of bed linen at Dorma. Reductions apply to a wide range of duvet covers, sheets, valances and throws. But if you're more interested in finding discounts on clothes, accessories and shoes, it's worth checking out high street stores such as Topshop, Topman and Urban Outfitters. Most are now entering the clearance periods of their summer sales, so huge discounts of 70% or more can be found on selected items. Meanwhile, Debenhams has begun its children's style festival, with discounts of up to 50% off a wide range of clothing on offer until 4 June. Footwear store Faith is also offering 20% off its whole range both in store and online at the moment -- but act fast, as discounts end this Sunday. Also, please note that the offer does not apply at Faith in Topshop, Oxford Street. Lovers of make-up and beauty products are in for another treat from Boots this week. 500 extra Advantage Card points (£5 worth) are on offer when you buy two premium brand items from the website, one of which must be a skincare product. Anyone not tempted by that might still be pleased to know that there are10 Advantage points available for every £1 spent  at Boots.com until 1 June -- whether or not you buy fancy moisturiser! Entertain Yourself... Economically There are also several great deals available on DVDs this weekend. Louis Theroux: The Collection is now £13.99 at Play.com. Normally, this four-disc selection of the finest moments from his critically acclaimed TV shows is £29.99 -- so fans can save a massive £16 off the RRP! Alternatively, I imagine some female readers might be more interested in getting their hands on The Brad Pitt Collection. Yes, I know -- DVDs are hardly a substitute for the man himself -- but at £9.99 for four films, this offer from Powerplaydirect.com is too, er, attractive to refuse. Avid computer gamers can also pick up their fair share of discounts this week. Dvd.co.uk is offering a selection of Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, PSP and DS games in promotional 2 for £25 and 2 for £30 deals. Likewise, bookworms can benefit from some bumper bargains. Blackwells is offering 20% off a selection of 200 books that are perfect for summer reading. Elsewhere, The Book People is offering fantastic discounts on book boxed sets for girls. This Jacqueline Wilson collection contains 10 books, and is bound to go down well with young ladies. Even better, it's a bargainous £9.99 (a saving of £38.91 off the RRP!). Slightly older readers might also enjoy The Princess Diaries boxed set - it's £9.99, down from £47.92. Go, Gadget, Go! Gadget aficionados might like these next few offers... Play.com has reduced this emergency mobile phone charger to just £4.99, from £14.99 -- so there's no need for you to find yourself stranded without phone power ever again! And anyone who's yet to embrace the age of digital TV might do well to visit Dixons.co.uk this weekend. Discounts of 10% off all digital tuners are available until 2 June -- just quote the code DIGITAL10 at the check-out to claim your money off. However, my favourite electrical bargain of the week has to be this automatic can opener from Amazon. It's £8.50, reduced from £19.97, and brilliant for anyone who has trouble with tins (or is just plan lazy. Ahem).  Brilliant Holiday Bargains Finally, there are some great discounts on holidays and mini-breaks available right now. Thomson has reduced the price of selected accommodation abroad to as little as £2 per room, per night -- but act quickly as the best choices will disappear fast! Elsewhere, Travelzoo.com is offering family accommodation in London for £130 per night (for up to two adults and two children). Each guest staying at the New South Bank Hotel will receive a free breakfast, and 50% off other food and drink throughout their stay. Children are also entitled to a free gift bag, and the offer is available between 28 July and 14 September -- perfect for a school summer holiday getaway! Offers Which Continue To Be Valid: Softuk.com is also still offering a variety of hefty discounts on computer games and consoles, including Football Manager 2008, now £19.99 with £20 off. The rom-com romp Music & Lyrics is also still available for just £2.99 from HMV.com this week. Lucky viewers will save £15 on the film -- and get to see Hugh Grant do his best Wham! impression into the bargain. Elsewhere, Expedia is offering  40% off stays in selected USA hotels, and Lastminute.com is offering a wide variety of discounts on holidays, city breaks and flights as part of its continuing summer sale. Voucher code heaven can be found at myvouchercodes.co.uk, a website which lists a range of discount codes and printable vouchers to help you save on your everyday shopping. And Amazon fans looking for a bargain should take note of Price Cut Review, a nifty website that lists all current Amazon products selling at half price or less.
