Network now offers the cheapest way to access 4G on pay-as-you-go (PAYG).

EE has launched a new range of 4G pay-as-you-go (PAYG) value packs with deals starting from £1 a week.

The network says the new £1 seven-day packs are designed to transform the UK PAYG market by offering better flexibility and value alongside regular 30-day deals.

How EE compares

EE’s £1 seven-day 4G PAYG deals are unique at the moment and offer the cheapest way to try the superfast service without the commitment.

But if you need more and want a combined deal you would be better off going for the Everything Pack, which combines calls, texts and data. The table below shows how this compares with other 4G PAYG bundles from the main providers (all deals last 30 days).

EE’s £10 Everything Pack beats Three’s £10 All-in-One plan for the best value deal at this range, offering users more minutes and texts for the price.

However, Three offers better value for £15 a month as the All in One plan for this price level gives users an unlimited data allowance.

Vodafone only offers 4G to PAYG customers from £20 which is pretty expensive compared to other providers. However, at this price level it offers the best value deal compared to O2.

It’s not all about price

Apart from getting the best price, the other factor to consider when going for a 4G deal is the coverage a network has.

As EE launched ten months before its rivals, it has the widest coverage for 4G users at the moment.

EE now covers 75% of the population, 263 major towns and cities, and over 2,500 villages and small towns (with a population of less than 10,000).

Vodafone's 4G service is up and running in 313 towns and cities, while O2 has got 248 areas live.

Three in contrast only has 96 cities major towns and cities up and running on its 4G service.
