What the networks are offering

So far EE, Vodafone, Three, O2 and Tesco Mobile have announced pay monthly tariffs. Here’s a rundown of what each are offering.

EE

EE is offering both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on 24-month contracts.

The network has a whopping 42 plans to pick from, allowing you to find a price range and allowance that most suits you.

Up-front costs vary, but monthly prices start from £14.99. EE offers the widest choice of data options with 500MB,1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 5GB or 20GB available.

Some plans come with double speed 4G and the ability to use your minutes and texts in EU countries. And all EE customers get EE Wednesdays, which entitles them to two for one cinema tickets and pizza each week.

EE has an exclusive deal with Apple, which means it will be the only network in the UK which will allow customers to make Wi-Fi calls when there is no network available.

It’s also the network that has the widest coverage for 4G, with 263 major towns and cities as well as 2,500 smaller towns and villages set up on its service.

Vodafone

Vodafone is the only provider offering the choice of 12-month as well as 24-month plans for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Its Red plans come with unlimited texts and minutes and the choice of 4GB, 7GB, 10GB or 20GB of data. Up-front costs vary, but monthly prices start from £43.50.

As an incentive to sign-up, Vodafone is offering the choice of a six month subscription to Netflix, 12/24 month subscription to Spotify or 12/24 months Sky Sports subscription on 4GB and 7GB deals. Larger 10GB and 20GB plans get the Netflix subscription plus the choice of 12/24-month Spotify or 12/24-month Sky Sports subscriptions. This offer will run until 3rd November 2014.

Vodafone's 4G network covers 313 towns and cities at the moment.

O2

O2 is offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on its Refresh pay monthly plans. These separate the cost of the handset from the airtime so it’s easier to upgrade or terminate a deal.

The deals will be on 24-month contracts that come with unlimited texts and minutes as well as the choice of 2GB, 5GB or 20GB of data. Up-front costs vary but monthly costs start from £38.

O2's 4G network covers 248 towns and cities.

Tesco Mobile

Tesco Mobile is also offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on 24-month contracts. But it's the only network to offer all models with no-upfront cost.

Plans start from £41 and all come with 3,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and the choice of 3GB, 5GB or 8GB of data.

Tesco Mobile uses O2’s network to provide its service so its 4G service will cover the same range.

As you can see EE currently offers the cheapest deal for a a 16GB iPhone 6 on a 4G contract. However, there's a high up-front cost of £449.99 to factor in and compared to the other cheapest deals on offer from each provider you don't get much data or free minutes.

Vodafone's cheapest offer is a good alternative as it comes with unlimited minutes and texts, more data and a lower up-front cost. However, you'll have to pay more each month compared to EE and there is still a relatively high up-front cost of £249 to consider.

If you don't want to pay anything up-front, Tesco Mobile is the best provider to go for. You'll get slightly less on minutes, texts and data compared to Vodafone, but the monthly costs are smaller.

EE's cheapest deal is the overall best if you're after a 16GB iPhone 6 Plus, but again the high up-front cost may put some off.

Vodafone's cheapest deal comes with more minutes, texts and data, but you have to pay more each month and there's still a pretty steep £329 to pay up-front.

Again Tesco Mobile's cheapest offer presents the most attractive deal. It offers slightly less in terms of minutes, texts and data but doesn't charge an up-front cost and has a relatively low monthly cost compared to Vodafone.
