Where to find cheap children's Halloween costumes

Updated on 31 October 2014 | 0 Comments

If you aren't making it yourself, we've found the cheapest deals on Halloween costumes for children.

Halloween, the spookiest night of the year, is almost upon us. For many parents, that means sorting out a ghoulish costume or two for their children. If you aren't much cop at doing it yourself, there's still time to pick up a fancy dress bargain.

Aldi

The discount retailer has a collection of children’s dressing up kits as part of its Specialbuys, each costing just £3.99. There are Cat, Bright Witch or Spider Ballgown sets for girls aged three-eight years, Skeleton and Dracula suits for boys of the same age and a cute little unisex Spider Tabbard for kids aged between three and five.

Argos

Argos sells full costumes starting at £11.98. Choose from the likes of Little Red Riding Hood, Darth Vader and the Gruffalo. The costumes are available for children aged three and up. Some of them are even eligible for free delivery when ordered online.

Asda

Try George if your child fancies going trick-or-treating as a witch, a devil or a pirate. You can get them kitted out for only £4.

It also has ghoulish get-up for smaller children aged between six months and four years old.

You can even get the dog involved, dressing them up as Frankenstein, Dracula or a skeleton for £4 from the Devilish Doggywear range.

Claire's

Claire's is the place to find accessories that will give a bland outfit a bit of zing. Get a set of glow-in-the-dark vampire fangs for £1.50 or a pair of blood-stained gloves, hair extensions or cat ears for less than £6 each.

Sainsbury’s

Tu from Sainsbury’s has got all the classic costumes as well as few slightly more obscure ones, like a bat fairy dress with lights (sadly it doesn’t come in an adult size). Most of the outfits are for children aged between three and 12, but for infants there is a bright and playful pumpkin costume and a Bright Star Witch outfit. Tu’s selection is a bit more expensive, starting at £6.

Tesco

Tesco has a huge range of outfits for all ages, from toddlers to teens. Your child can dress up as a Vampire Queen, Batman, a werewolf or Phantom Darkness. Prices start at £7.99.

I can't find anything suitable

If you have time to wait for a delivery, you’re bound to find cheap costumes on Amazon or eBay. Or for those who are really stuck for ideas, you could always pick up a child (or adult) onesie from Primark.
