Here's our weekly round-up of the best restaurant deals and grocery discounts on offer, plus this week's top supermarket voucher codes!

This week we help you get £10 off your first Tesco shop. We've also got plenty of new restaurant deals, and more free coffee than you can shake a stick at!

Best supermarket deals

This week I'm going to start with the best offers at Tesco. There are still good 2 for 1 deals on Soreen large malt loaves (usually £1.19 each) and New York Bagel Co. bagels (usually £1.29 for a pack of five). 2 for 1 offers also continue to run on Clover, Kraft Philadelphia and eight-packs of Activia yoghurt.

A range of Danepak bacon (220g) has been reduced by 50%, from £3 to £1.50. Haagen Dazs Cookies & Cream ice cream (500ml) has been reduced from £3.86 to £2.50 (yum!). And finally, there are 2 for 1 deals on several types of cereal, including Shredded Wheat and various varieties of Oat So Simple.

Over at Sainsbury's, the best deals still include six-packs of large free range eggs from The Happy Egg Company: They're currently reduced from £1.77 to £1.

There are also good 2 for 1 deals on four-packs of Nestle Ski yoghurts (usually £1.48 each) and six-packs of Muller Rice (usually £2.94 each).

At ASDA, good offers include a 2 for 1 deal on several varieties of Frijj milkshake (500ml, usually £1 each), and almost 50% off I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (1kg); reduced from £1.99 to £1.

Morrisons good half-price deals include McVities Ginger Nuts (300g), currently reduced to 45p from 90p; and seven-packs of Hula-Hoops for just 60p, reduced from £1.20.

At Somerfield, you can currently pick up 750g of chilled gammon joint for £3, and 1kg of beef roasting joint for just £5.

And at the Co-op, British topside, top rump and silverside cuts are just £4.49 per kg.

There are some great fruit and veg deals at Lidl: Offers include red peppers at 25p each, avocados at 29p each, mangoes at 39p each and Cos lettuces at 49p each.

And finally - when it comes to dine-in meal deals, the supermarkets have gone crazy this week. Here's what's what:

  • The famous M & S £10 deal is back again, and runs 8th to 11th October. You can view the full menu here.
  • Tesco is offering a £9 equivalent, which also includes a main, a side, a dessert and a bottle of wine. This deal runs until 13th October.
  • Morrisons is doing at £8 equivalent, which is comprised of the same four basic elements and which runs until 11th October.
  • And now Waitrose has waded into battle as well, offering a slow cook meal plus wine for £10 - for FOUR people! The offer runs until 13th October, and you get to choose a meat (one of four), prepared veg (one of four), a pudding (one of four) and either a bottle of wine (one of two) or some Duchy Thins. You can view the full menu here.

Tipple

At Majestic Wine, you can currently save 25% when you buy two bottles of Spanish wine. Just bear in mind that the offer excludes wines under £4 and over £20 - as well as Cava and sherry.

Cut price snacks

If it's bargain coffee you're after, there are two newspaper-linked deals to choose from this week.

First - a Starbucks deal: Buy the Guardian newspaper on any Friday during October and you'll find a voucher for a free Fairtrade Tall espresso, latte, cappuccino, mocha or Americano worth up to £2.25. Just remember that the voucher is valid on the day of publication only.

If you're not a fan of Starbucks (or the Guardian!) you can get your coffee hit at Marks & Spencer - but you'll have to be quick. Buy The Times newspaper today (Friday 9th October) and you'll find a voucher for a free M & S hot drink worth up to £2.90.

Better still, you'll also be entitled to a free snack - a rocky road, brownie, millionaire shortbread or flapjack. Again, the voucher is valid on the day of publication only.

Finally, Millie's Cookies is still offering a print-off voucher booklet which includes various 2 for 1 deals on cookies and ice cream. The vouchers expire on 31st October.

Voucher codes

Get £10 off your first online grocery shop with Tesco when you spend over £50. Just enter the eCoupon code XX-OFFER at the online grocery checkout. You'll have to act fast, as delivery has to be made on or before 11th October.

Voucher code promotions tend to be withdrawn quickly. If you've missed out on this one, you can use the following websites to track down new voucher codes as and when they come up:

And finally... bring your own booze

You can save a packet when you're eating out by bringing your own alcohol. Sadly, major chains don't usually allow you to do this.

So, it's worth working out whether the good deals I mentioned earlier might actually be trumped by restaurants allowing you to bring your own booze and save money that way.

Here's a list of restaurants which allow you to do this. Just remember that some will charge a small corkage fee for the privilege.
