ScottishPower to cut gas prices by 4.8%

Updated on 20 January 2015 | 0 Comments

ScottishPower has just become the third of the Big Six energy providers to cut its gas prices.

ScottishPower has announced it is cutting its gas prices by 4.8% from 20th February.

According to the energy provider, the cut equates to a saving of £33 a year on average.

Scottish Power is the third member of the Big Six energy providers to cut gas prices over the last week, following E.ON and British Gas

It has also launched a new fixed-price tariff, which will cost the average energy user £930 a year. Existing fixed-price tariff holders can switch over without any exit fees.

Who’s the cheapest now?

As the table below demonstrates, Scottish Power is still not offering the cheapest deal despite its competitive new tariff. Instead Extra Energy is currently pipping First Utility to the post, if only by £1 for the average energy user.
