However, these products tend to cost a fair bit, especially if you’re buying for the whole family. So we’ve worked out where to find the top brands cheapest, as well as the best deals on multi-buy promotions.

We've focused on comparing prices between the supermarkets as well as Boots and Superdrug on four of the most common brands you’ll find in stores.

Own brand sun protection

Most supermarkets as well as Boots and Superdrug offer their own range of sun care, which can be significantly cheaper compared to popular brands, although it's worth pointing out that Boots's Soltan creams failed a recent protection test by Which?

There’s also the Tesco Soleil range, Boots Soltan, Asda Protect, Morrisons Sun Care, Sainsbury’s Sun, M&S Sun Smart and Superdrug Solait.

Don’t forget to check online

If you are buying a lot of sun care products then it’s worth checking if you can save online with Amazon.

Just bear in mind that you will need to spend a minimum of £20 to qualify for free delivery.
