Barclaycard to scrap Bespoke Offers daily deals website
Daily deals website run by Barclaycard is being axed from Monday.
Bespoke Offers, a daily deals website run by Barclaycard, is being scrapped from Monday.
The site, which launched in 2013 to rival the likes of Groupon and Wowcher, offered ‘bespoke’ discounts on things like travel, electrical goods, fashion, food and more to anyone, not just Barclaycard or Barclays customers.
Barclaycard says the website will ’cease to trade’ from Monday 26th October.
In addition, the ‘Beat My Price’ tool on the website, which tries to negotiate a better deal on things you want to buy online, will also be axed at the same time.
What it means for shoppers
The Bespoke Offers website is still running with plenty of deals, despite the announcement.
Barclaycard confirmed that any orders placed previously and up until the weekend will be honoured.
Contact details will be posted on the homepage by Monday for those customers that experience any issues with delivery, the item, voucher or service once the scheme ends.
Why is this happening?
Barclaycard told loveMONEY: “Following an internal review we have announced the closure of our Digital Marketplace business (incorporating our bespoke offers and Beat My price products). Our decision to close the businesses was taken after a detailed review of the financial performance to date and against their potential to deliver acceptable returns in the future.”
