Location of the unclaimed £33 million National Lottery ticket revealed

Updated on 22 January 2016 | 0 Comments

Lotto ticket holders from the Worcester area should check them now.

Although the second share of the recent record-breaking £66 million National Lottery jackpot hasn't been claimed yet the location where the £33,035,323 winning ticket was purchased has now been revealed – Worcester.

The other half of the jackpot was claimed by David and Carol Martin from Hawick in the Scottish Borders last week.

Camelot is urging anyone who bought a ticket in Worcester for the 9 January draw to “check, double-check and triple-check their tickets” in an effort to track down the second winner.

The lotto numbers were 26, 27, 46, 47, 52 and 58 and the lucky ticket holder has until Thursday 7th July 2016 to claim.

Why has the location been revealed now?

If no valid claims have been made on prizes of £50,000 or over approximately two weeks after the draw, the area where the ticket was bought will be released. It’s designed to encourage people who bought tickets to check them while leaving the winner(s) to remain anonymous if they wish.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings and we’re urging everyone to try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags, down the back of the sofa and anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.

“We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

What if my ticket is lost or stolen?

If your ticket has been lost or stolen, you can submit a written claim within 30 days of the draw and if Camelot believes the evidence is sufficient, it will investigate and explore the validity of the claim. If your claim is deemed legitimate it will pay out 180 days after the draw.

Camelot suggests that anyone concerned about lost or unchecked tickets should consider setting up a National Lottery Direct Debit or playing lotto online at national-lottery.co.uk. Numbers are entered in advance and winners are notified online if their numbers come up.

What if no one claims it?

If there aren’t any valid claims by the deadline then the prize money and all of the interest it has generated goes to help National Lottery-funded projects around the UK.

The elusive winning ticket holder can contact Camelot through the National Lottery Line on 0844 338 7551 or by emailing help@national-lottery.co.uk.
