Amazon teams up with Morrisons to sell fresh food
One of the big four will be supplying fresh food for Amazon later this year.
Morrisons will start supplying fresh, frozen and non-perishable foods for Amazon later this year.
The supermarket's products will be available to Amazon Prime Now and Amazon Pantry customers. Amazon Pantry launched in the UK last year, but it is currently limited to store cupboard items and household products.
Amazon hasn’t released a full list of products that it will be selling thanks to this partnership yet, but it has said it will include orange juice, chocolate, spaghetti and soup.
One-hour deliveries through Prime Now are only available in London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester and Liverpool at the moment.
David Potts, Chief Executive of Morrisons, said: “Today’s agreement is built on Morrisons unique strengths as a food maker. The combination of our fresh food expertise with Amazon’s online and logistics capabilities is compelling.
"We look forward to working with Amazon to develop and grow this partnership over the coming months.”
Morrisons stores and online shop will not be affected by the move.
