It’s always nice to get something for nothing. If you add these sites to your favourites, and visit them regularly, you can pick up an absolute stack of freebies!

Going green

Top of the pile are the sites Freecycle and Freegle, both of which are particularly environmentally friendly. Basically, if you want something that other people might fancy getting rid of something, say a sofa or an exercise bike, you send an email to your local list.

People that are interested in giving it you for free can then get in contact, and you can arrange how and when to pick up the goods.

Alternatively, you can simply join the list and see what comes up on offer from local people who want to get rid of their stuff.

Either way, it’s all completely free!

New free stuff

The good news is, there are plenty of sites where the freebies on offer aren’t second hand. My personal favourite is freebielist.com – all you do is enter your email address and you get a weekly newsletter detailing all sorts of free samples and general freebies you can sign up for.

Magicfreebies.co.uk works on a similar basis, while there are a number of forums that it’s also worth keeping an eye on such as Bobsfreestuffforum.co.uk and PeazyShop.co.uk. These sites are divided up depending on the type of freebie on offer to help you find what you’re looking for.

Free days out

It’s not just actual stuff you can get for free though – you can get whole days or evenings out without spending a penny too!

The National Trust detail a number of sites all across the UK that you can visit for free, while there are also loads of National Parks that won’t charge you a penny for access. If the great outdoors isn’t your thing, then get yourself over to dofreestuff.com which details what’s going on in all the different regions of the UK. Also be sure to check out Free Events.co.uk, which as the name suggests, gives chronological listings of all sorts of things that are going on which won’t cost you anything.
