    "Loo-wee Vwee-Than"? For God's sake, why "than"? It's "Vwee-ton"; or perhaps a little more correctly "Vwee-taung"!

    I have never come across most of these 'common' mispronunciations!!! Maybe the article is intended for teenagers

    VolksWagen - Wrong again. The Germans pronounce the letter V as we would an F. This is where we derive the word "folk" meaning people. The phrase of course means "People's car," because that nice Mr Hitler wanted all his people to be able to afford a car. Germans prefer to call it simply VW so as to mask the historical association - which they pronounce "Fow- Vay." "Th Th Th That's All, Volks!"
