Government launches new pension tracing service
The new website will help you track down lost pensions from previous jobs.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has launched a new website to help people trace over £400 million in lost pension savings.
It takes information from a database of 32,000 pension scheme administrators, providing users with immediate results.
The site is simple to use - just enter your former employer’s details into the database. You’ll then get contact details for pension schemes you may have previously paid into.
You can also get employer details by ringing up 0345 6002 537 (open Monday-Friday 8am-6pm) or by writing to:

Speaking about the launch, Minister for Pensions, Baroness Ros Altmann said:
“People have had on average 11 jobs during their working life, which can mean they have as many work place pensions to keep track of. The new DWP online Pension Tracing Service helps reunite people with their lost pensions, giving details of providers to help people track them down.”
In tests, 83% of users said they were either satisfied or very satisfied with the website.

‘I managed to trace £10,000’
One user, Yvonne Martin, even uncovered a £10,000 pension pot that she has with Aviva which came from an employer that she worked with 30 years ago.
“There was one employer who I worked for and I knew I had a pension with them of some sort. But as it was so long ago, I had just lost track of it,” said Martin.
“I had actually put off trying to trace my pensions because I thought I would need lots of details. But when I got round to doing it I was shocked how easy it was.”
