Amazon Prime Day 2016 is today (July 12).

The second annual event is set to be the biggest-ever and will feature thousands of deals across nearly all departments and categories on its website, ensuring there is "something for everyone", with new offers every five minutes.

Sadly, the deals are reserved for Amazon Prime members. If you aren't a member, you could sign up for a free 30-day trial to take advantage and then cancel your Prime subscription before the fee kicks in.

Today’s massive Amazon Prime Day sale has sparked a price war with high street and online rivals.

In a bid to attract shoppers retailers including Currys/PC World, Tesco Direct, John Lewis and Argos have slashed prices.

Argos has launched its ‘Big Sale’ with up to £150 off selected TVs, half price toys as well as a third off BBQs, pressure washers, garden furniture and fitness equipment. For today only it’s also offering free fast track same day delivery with a minimum £10 spend.

Currys/PC World is holding a 10-day flash sale with free UK delivery. Deals include 10% off selected TVs, HiFi systems and built in appliances.

John Lewis has 50% off selected towels, tableware, living room furniture, garden furniture plus deals on beauty, nursery and fitness.

Tesco Direct has cut prices by up to 50% on toys, kitchen essentials and clothes and up to 60% off summer furniture.
