German political party tells British start-ups: "move to Berlin"
A mobile billboard inviting new companies to relocate to Germany has caused quite a stir.
A German political party has hired a mobile billboard in London, inviting new start-ups to move to Berlin.
There's been a lot of upheaval since the UK voted to leave the European Union last month, and it seems some are wasting no time in capitalising on the uncertainty.
The vehicle, which was spotted just outside the loveMONEY offices, carried the message: “Dear start-ups, keep calm and move to Berlin.” It also carried the logo of the Free Democratic Party (FDP).
Hit and miss
The marketing stunt was a hit on social media, with many coming out both in favour and against the FDP’s decision to run such an advert less than two weeks after the referendum.
Below is a selection of what people had to say on Twitter. What do you think? Funny? Clever? Offensive?
From the country that invented the word "Schadenfreude." The FDP is driving this truck around London today. pic.twitter.com/zGEuLxonhQ
