Rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S8 are spreading fast. Here's what we've heard about the phone's UK release date, specs and where to get it the cheapest.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 UK launch date is expected to be 29 March 2017, with a release date of 21 April.

While UK providers have yet to reveal their pricing deals, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will likely cost around £679.

Samsung Galaxy S8 specs and key facts

Sources say the S8 smartphone has a curve-edge "infinity" screen that covers most of the front of the handset, an iris scanner for extra security and a longer battery life than the Samsung Galaxy S7.

It’ll have a 5.8-inch Quad HD display and a 3,250m Ah battery along with a powerful Snapdragon 835 chip.

As if that wasn’t enough, it will be water-resistant too, just like its predecessor.

As for memory, it’ll have either 6GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on which rumours you believe.

It's said to have two cameras: a 12-megapixel, dual-lens rear camera and an 8-megapixel 'selfie' camera on the front.

The fingerprint sensor on the back is (perhaps a little awkwardly) placed next to the camera.

It's believed the phone will feature a USB-C port for faster charging. However, sources are divided on whether or not Samsung will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.

To sweeten the deal, the phone can also be used in headsets like the Samsung Galaxy Gear to give users a mobile virtual reality (VR) experience.

Samsung's answer to Siri is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant called Bixby.

Launched in December 2016, it's the first voice assistant to come from Samsung and it's hoped that it'll help to redeem the company's reputation after the troubles it had with the Samsung Note 7.

There are also plans to release a larger 6.2-inch Plus model.
