Sky launches new VIP loyalty scheme

Sky has launched a VIP loyalty scheme offering a free Buy & Keep movie plus a whole host of other rewards. But is it enough to make you switch and stay?

Sky has launched a new loyalty programme to reward all its customers.

With Sky VIP you can get a free Buy & Keep movie, preview hit shows before anyone else, bag free tickets to sporting events like the British Masters and the Premier League and get access to a dedicated customer service line. There might even be a chance to visit the Game of Thrones filming location.

How does it work?

Perks are rewarded based on how long you’ve been with Sky.

The four tiers are:

Each tier gives access to new rewards as well as rewards in previous tiers.

What's more, every customer who downloads the app will bag a free movie from the Sky Store.

Those who have stuck with Sky for longer will have access to a new preview channel called Sky Atlantic VIP which will let you see Sky original shows, HBO and Showtime features 24 hours in advance. Longer-term customers will get free set-up for Sky Fibre, free Sky Go Extra and free Sky Q set-up, with priority customer service thrown in.

How do I get started?

Join Sky VIP by downloading the app to find out what perks you’re entitled to based on how long you’ve been a customer.

From there you can check up on your Sky VIP account in the My Sky app.

Is it worth going for?

It is if you've been with with Sky for a long time.

Wonderful though a free movie is, it might not be enough of a reason to switch to Sky, especially when nothing else is guaranteed until you've been with Sky for three years. That said, it's refreshing to see the tide turn in favour of more loyal customers (finally).

The most important thing to consider when choosing a TV package is value for money. How many of the channels would you actually watch and does it stack up against the price? If it doesn't, a NOW TV deal might be better for you.
