Supermarket deals: Bank Holiday barbecue special

Planning to hit the grill this weekend? We've rounded up the best BBQ meat, beer, wine and extras discounts from the supermarkets.

It’s the weekend, it’s set to be sunny (fingers crossed!) and it’s Bank Holiday – do you need any more reasons to have a barbecue?

It seems the supermarkets are of the same school of thought, having stacked their aisles with some super barbeque deals to tempt you into spending.

And, because we like to be helpful, we’ve rounded some of the best ones up below.

Aldi

This weekend Aldi will be rolling out some rarely-spotted specials; the 'Big Burger', Carolina Foot long Sausage and 'Big Daddy' steak.

At 454g, the Big Burger is equivalent to four quarter pounders at £2.69, whilst the South Carolina sausage is £1.79 for a pack of two. The 'Big Daddy' extra-thick rump steak weighs in at a humungous 16oz, and costs £4.99.

You should also head to Aldi for Aberdeen Angus Gourmet burgers (340g) at £2.19 or six Cumberland seasoned sausages (400g) at just £1.89.

It's possible to get a case of Carlsberg (20 x 440ml) at £11.99 and, for the wine lovers a Pinot Grigio Sauvignon Rose (75cl) at £4.69

Asda

At Asda, you can pick up Butcher’s Selection four pack of beef burgers for £2.70 or two for £5 while Extra Special six pork sausages are on offer at two packs for £4.

Non-meat eaters can try Asda’s vegetarian and vegan spicy bean burgers at £1.50 for four

Selected cases of beer are on offer from £8, with three cases for £21, while Vicelo Pinot Grigio  (75cl) has been reduced from £4.98 to £4. And for the non-drinkers selected two-litre bottles of pop are down from £1.85 to £1.25.

Extras you might need include a 12 pack of white sliced rolls at £1,  Heinz tomato ketchup (1kg)  £2.79 and corn on the cobs (450g) £1.75.

Lidl

Try Lidl’s Deluxe Scotch beef quarter pounders (454g) at £2.49 or Deluxe outdoor-bred British pork sausages at £1.89.

A six pack of Perlenbacher Premium Pilsner (6 x 330ml) is on offer at £4.29 while Pinot Grigio delle Venezie will cost you £4.29.

Bargain extras available include Batts Tomato Ketchup (565g) 45p and white crusty rolls 17p each

Morrisons

There’s an offer on Morrisons The Best Scotch beef quarter pounders (454g) at £3 each or two for £5, while The Best thick pork sausages (10 pack) are £4 each or three packs for £10.

Vegetarians can opt for Morrisons four Edamame & Sweet Potato burgers (350g) at £1.57.

Wolf Blass Yellow Label Chardonnay (75cl) is down to £6 from £8.25, you can get two bottles of Coca-cola (1.5l) for £3 and two cases of Carlsberg (12x440ml) for £16, down from £18.

Extras you can pick up include Morrisons corn on the cob (500g) 75p, Heinz Tomato ketchup (910g) £2.80 and Morrisons soft white rolls six-pack 50p.

Sainsbury's

Try Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference New Yorker burgers (380g) at £3, Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference pork sausages x 6 (400g) at £2.50 or pick up four Sainsbury’s sweet potato, quinoa and lentil burgers (350g) at £1.50.

Schweppes lemonade (2l) is down 30p to £1, Barefoot Pinot Grigio (75cl) is down £1 to £5.75 while a case of Budweiser (18 x 440ml) is down £3 to £13.

Don't forget the extras including Sainsbury’s sweet corn cobbettes x 4 £1.50, Heinz Tomato ketchup (800ml) £3.15 and Sainsbury’s six white rolls 65p

Tesco

Pick up a pack of Tesco Finest British beef steak burgers (454g) for £2.25, down from £3 or Tesco Finest six British pork sausages (400g) at £1.87, down from £2.50.

Please your vegan guests with Tesco’s vegan peanut & avocado burgers (two pack) at £1.50 each or three for £4.

Barefoot Pink Pinot Grigio is down from £6.50 to £5.50, get two cases of selected beer and cider for £20 (including Stella 20 x 284ml) and selected two-litre bottles of pop at two for £2.50.

Extras available include Tesco corn on the cob twin pack £1 (was £1.50), Heinz tomato ketchup (910g) £2.80 and six-pack rolls 75p or two for £2.

Waitrose

Waitrose 30 day dry aged Hereford Beef hand pressed burgers (340g) are on offer at three for £10 (£3.74 each) while Waitrose six British pork sausages with Bramley apple (400g) are two for £5 (£3.29 each).

For a vegetarian option, try Linda McCartney sausages (200g) at two for £2 (£1.50 each).

And for refreshments, pick up a bottle of Barefoot White Zinfandel Rose (75cl) at £4.99 (down from £6.69), two 1.5l bottles of Coca-cola for £3 (£2.05 each) and a case of Corona (12 x 33cl) for £12, down from £14.

Waitrose BBQ extras include Essential Waitrose sweet corn (two pack) £1.65 or two for £3, Heinz tomato ketchup 650g £2.30 and Essential Waitrose white finger rolls (x6) 75p.
