Tesco Direct closing down: furniture, toys and garden products 50% off
Tesco’s online store is closing in July and has launched an extensive clearance sale – but you’ll need to be quick.
Tesco has launched a clearance sale following its decision to shut down Tesco Direct.
The supermarket’s online store is closing on 9 July and is cutting prices by up to 50% on goods in order to shift its leftover stock.
What's on offer?
At the time of writing, there was an eclectic collection of items left, ranging from chainsaws to wardrobes to kids’ scooters.
Standouts available at the time of writing included the Flymo Rollermo 1000W Electric Rotary Lawn Mower (pictured) for £27.50, an American Tourister 4-Wheel Black Suitcase (pictured, lower down) for £25, a Kenny Small Double Bed frame (£37.50) and a San Marino Curve three-piece outdoor furniture set (£80).
The fine print
You’ll need to be quick, however, as items have been going out of stock rapidly.
It might be worth checking in again at later on if you see nothing you like as Tesco says “more lines [are] added regularly”, also cautioning that out-of-stock items will obviously not be replenished.
Also note that next-day delivery is no longer available, and orders will take 2-5 days to arrive, even if you collect them in store.
If an item is faulty, you will still be able to get a refund after the 9 July, but you may not be able to get a replacement.

Technology and electricals excluded
If you were planning to pick up a bargain TV or new fridge, then you’re out of luck.
Tesco’s clearance sale currently appears to exclude technology, home electrical, gaming, clothes, flowers and health & beauty.
It also excludes items sold by Tesco Direct’s partners, who are not part of the shutdown.
You can still buy the above items on Tesco Direct, and some are discounted, albeit not to the level of the clearance items
It’s possible to get a 40-inch Sharp Smart TV with full HD for £239, although Curry’s were offering a 40-inch JVC full-HD TV, albeit without smart functionality, for £239.
